 =   Q2LU v1.0 - Quake 2 Level Utility   =
 ========================================

** FEATURES **

This program adds a few features to the Quake2 game that the writers missed. There is only one save game folder for all levels and I decided to create a save game folder for every added level.

** INSTALLATION **

First, place the q2lu.zip file into the Quake2 folder. Unzip all files using the restore directory structure option {i.e. pkunzip -d q2lu.zip (SEE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW)}. Second, it's too complicated to run to the msprompt and enter the map command for each level. A more simple solution is to place a shortcut of Q2LU.EXE (sorry you'll have to do that manually) in the C:\WINDOWS\SENDTO folder. Right click on the icon to select RUN MINIMIZED and CLOSED ON EXIT under PROPERTIES/PROGRAM. Third, place a shortcut of Windows Explorer in the Quake2 folder in the Start Menu. Modify the Target window in Properties to read....

C:\WINDOWS\EXPLORER.EXE/n,/e,/select,{location of the maps folder}
  ****  i.e. c:\GAMES\QUAKE2\BASEQ2\MAPS\TEMP  *****

It's important to create a dummy TEMP folder {Call the folder whatever you want, but Windows Explorer needs it}. Then, close the properties window. I renamed the shortcut to "Games Explorer".

** USAGE **

The purpose of all of this was to make an easy directory listing of Quake2 levels. Once installed, the loading of levels are extremely easy. Start up the "Games Explorer", right click on the *.bsp level of your choice and select SendTo->Q2LU. That's it.

Oh ya, you need a copy of pkunzip and pkzip in your C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND folder or somewhere in your COMMAND PATH listing.
