work. However, it is far enough along where it very playable. We hope you
enjoy it! Please report any bugs to us immediately so we can fix them before
the final release.

I. Overview

Congratulations on your decision to try Paintball! Paintball is
an exciting multiplayer addon for Quake modelled after real Paintball
(you know, the kind where you physically exert yourself). Almost
everything about Quake play has been changed: There are new maps, models,
sounds, and of course a different way of playing the game!

This game is brought to you by the same people who first brought Capture
the Flag to Quake in the popular patch QTeam!

The rest of this document contains installation instructions, credits,
contact information, descriptions of our other products, and pointers to
the rest of the documentation. See the Documentation section for the
filenames containing information on license, playing, server setup,
designing new maps, and a frequently asked questions.

II. Installing the package

You must already have the registered version of Quake installed on your
system in order to play Paintball. The installation of the Paintball
package assumes that you have some familiarity with manipulating files and
directories under DOS, Windows, or whatever operating system you use.

   1. Pay attention to what directory you unzipped the Paintball archive
(pb10b1.zip). We will call this the Unzip directory.

   2. Locate the Quake directory on your system. This will be the directory
      that contains quake.exe.

   3. For the purpose of providing an example, let's assume that you
unzipped Paintball into c:\temp (Unzip directory) and Quake on your
system is located in c:\quake (Quake directory). Let's also assume
that you are operating under DOS or a Windows DOS box, and that
you are using PKZIP 2.04g for unzipping files.

   4. Copy install.zip from the Unzip directory to the Quake directory

Continuing our example, the command to do this would be

           copy c:\temp\install.zip c:\quake

   5. Change to the Quake directory

Continuing our example, the commands to do this would be

           c:
           cd \quake

   5. Unzip install.zip using the preserve directory option

Continuing our example, the command to do this would be

           pkunzip -od install.zip

VI. Other Works (found at our website)

   * QTeam 2.0 (QTEAM20.ZIP)
This patch has a ton of multiplayer games included, all original
     code and ideas.

Capture the Flag - The original implementation of CTF for Quake
by Quake Innovations, supporting standard CTF, 1 flag CTF,
3 Team CTF, and much more!

Capture the Shambler - Teams vie for a single shambler in a map, the
shambler owner must lead the shambler to the team base. The
shambler fights for his team along the way!

King of the Hill - Play consists of short 1 minute rounds and teams
fight to occupy the 'hill' for the longest during each round.

Paintball - This was our original paintball game. It doesn't have any
of the new weapons or models but does have team elimination mode
and can be played on any id map.

Also included are deathtag and qfragfest games!

   * QTeam 2.5 beta release (QTEAM25.ZIP)

Now includes Hot Potato CTF! In this exciting CTF variation, there's
only one flag in a map and a flag carrier can only hold the flag for
15 seconds before needing to pass the flag to a teammate. If the flag
is not returned to base in time, or passed, the flag carrier gibs!

There are also bug fixes and minor enhancements for the other QTeam
     games as well.

   * The Inner Circle Trinket 1.01 (ICTRK101.ZIP)
