Credits(Brief):

Quake-C: Mark Chong, (A teensy bit from Alvin Kivlin fro floating stuff)

Models: Most new ones by Mark Chong, others by patches available
                        on the internet, and still more by ID software with
                        modified textures.

Sounds: All sounds came from internet sources or shareware
                        games with utilities available for ripping .WAV
                        sounds. While some sounds may have been modified, the
                        author takes no credit for the sounds used, though
                        some people say he has good taste :).

                        SUBWAY.BSP

Utilities used(All shareware): QME, Paint Shop Pro, WinPak, MeDdLe,
                                Blaster Master and FastTracker

Brief Description:

The Obsidian Edition is simply a 'multiplayer enhancement', changing the
gameplay of the game. Detail such as floating bodies, teleporters which
teleport shots, a harpoon with cable-wrapping dynamics are added. Rules
have been changed, along with most of the weapons. This patch is CTF
compatible, so it WILL work with your basic Threewave-CTF levels.
Since there are so many sounds used, the sound buffer is all filled up and
most single player levels (unfortunately) won't work. Sorry. :(

========================================================================
WEAPONS: New weapons are accessed by pressing a # key twice.
========================================================================

UNDERSTANDING THE FUNKY SYMBOLS:

    *: Must use +multifire to access when it appears in the Heads-Up-Display
    $: Sniper only
    %: Marine only
    ^: Demolitionist only

*0: Boomerang Axes: Press and hold on secondary fire button, release button to
        recall the axe. Turn view to guide the axes.
1b: Flare Gun: 4-shot infinite ammo, revolver-style.
2a: Lever-Action Winchester: Powerful, close range weapon.
%2b: M16 Assault Rifle: Armor-Piercing bullets, semi-automatic or *3-round burst.
^2c: MP5 'briefcase gun': Jacketed hollow-point rounds, devastating on
        unarmored opponents. 5-round bursts.
$2d: PSG-1 Sniper Rifle: Semi-automatic, *underslung grenade launcher. Aim for
        the face.
3a: Twinchesters: 2x Winchesters, Terminator-Style.
3b: Crowd Sweeper: Rapid-Fire Explosive Shotgun Slug Wailer.
4b: Antitank Rifle: Armor-Piercing Splinters/*Uranium slug antitank round.
5b: Gatling Gun: The way it should always be.
6b: Proximity Bombs: Stick to walls/people/doors/floors/cats/bats/dogs/logs/
        pigs/wings/foxes/boxes/chairs/bears/goats/stoats/shoats and even
        David Letterman. *Secondary fire arms the proximity bomb the instant
        it leaves the gun and will bounce like a grenade.
*7: Mortar Launcher: Hold down to vary shot speed, or tap the key to fire
        at full length quickly.
7b: Incendiary Rockets: Fast-Fire, set opponent on fire.
$*7b: Homing Minirockets: Little, fast-fire homing rockets.
%*7b: Big Fat Rocket: Is the best name I could think of.
^*7b: Remote-Detonation-Bomb: Hold on trigger, release when the time is right.
8b: Ion Cannon: Fire at a spot and hold steady. Release fire button after a
        brief time. Longer charge times produce bigger discharges.
*8b: BFG: Very pretty to look at, but incredibly slow. Good for taking out
        a roomful of busy people.
9: Flame thrower. The REAL thing, not some wussy-fireball launcher. *Napalm
bombs can be launched from the flame thrower, though they take 10 rockets to
do so.
========================================================================
OTHER WEAPONS: require 25 rockets
========================================================================

Use +bigweap to:

A: $Throw a Nerve-Gas canister.
B: %Fire/Guide a Stinger Missile.
C: ^Throw/Plant/Detonate a Satchel Bomb.

Use 'reload' to reload flare guns, M16's ad MP5's.

========================================================================
The Harpoon:
========================================================================

Reel mode(default): Will pull the user to the harpoon, or pull the harpooned
object to the player. Use Jump when really close to the harpoon to nudge
yourself up, or face a wall, hold on jump and press rapidly to 'climb'.

Fixed mode will fasten the cord to a fixed length, allowing no stretching nor
retraction of the harpoon. Press Jump while in Fixed Mode to let the line go
slack for a slow descent or to pay out some line.

tog_harpoon: Switch between Fixed and Reel mode.
+harpoon: Fire the harpoon, release the key to detach the harpoon.

========================================================================
Turrets:
========================================================================

Backpacks usually contain metal units. Get 10, and you can create a turret.
Each player may have a maximum of one turret at a time. To drop another, the
first one must be destroyed or self-destructed, and 10 metal units must be in
your inventory. Turrets start out pointing in the direction their owner was
pointing when he deployed the turret. The turret will choose this as a
'natural' angle and will return to this angle when not attacking anything.
To change the natural angle of the turret, use 'tcontrol' to re-aim the
turret, then exit turret control mode. The type of turret created depends on
the owner's player class. Snipers drop sniper turrets. Marines drop minigun
turrets. Demolitionists drop rocket turrets. Both the Sniper and
Demolitionist turrets may use the +multifire key to fire off underslung
grenades and uranium slugs. Each turret has different resistances to various
attacks as well as different turning rates.

COMMANDS:

turret: Drops a turret (need 10 metal units). Stand right next to your turret
and execute this command to repair it.

tcontrol: Get into turret view and remotely-control the turret.
Must be stationary to control the turret.

tdestruct: Self-Destruct the turret.

Gameplay tips:
========================================================================
- If you can see over a ledge, you can clamber over it by facing it and
holding jump.
- During the game, use gamma_down and gamma_up to change your gamma correction
instead of the options menu or console variable 'gamma #'. Otherwise strange
things may occur when you get hit by a satchel bomb or other blinding weapons.
- +laser and tog_laser may be used to toggle the sniper rifle's laser sight or
the antitank rifle's spotlight.
- Stomp or run full-tilt into dead bodies to salvage their armor.
- Shoot backpacks repeatedly to cause the ammunition inside to detonate.
- Continue firing on a dead player while he's 'going down' to gib him and
  release a power-up.
- When attacking a turret, stay out of its humongous detection radius and
attack it from afar, or find cover and play 'peek-a-boo' with the turret.
- 4 direct flare hits will destroy a turret.
- A satchel bomb will destroy a turret
- A stinger missile will destroy a turret.

In single player:

tarantino: Get ALL weapons and armor.
letmein: get keys
