I haven't seen any demos of this level, so I decided to set a time.

As this level is the end of an episode, and has no weapons,
I used "GIVE 3;GIVE 4; ... GIVE 8" to get them, but NO AMMO.

Since I seem to be the first to set a time for this level,
I'am setting this as the ONLY "cheat" allowed.

I started playing Quake on Nightmare skill right from the start, not on some
lesser "girlie" - Oops, sorry KillCreek (keep Romero busy) - "fairy" skill!
I went for all kills and secrets too, and I didn't use SAVE within the level,
I only saved at the exit, this made me learn the levels - and get much more
satisfaction and enjoyment from the game.

When a friend heard I had completed Quake on Nightmare with no mid-level saves,
he challenged me to do Azure Agony infront of him, with GIVE weapons only.
I managed it - Just (playing on keyboard back then) - with no particular
route, in a dismal 14 minutes!

Since then, I have tried various routes, gradually improving the time.
Then I had a complete route re-think, and an ammo budget, so I didn't
nip into alcoves to get more ammo, but only getting what was in my way.

Not opening the gate in the first pool saves a few seconds,
and also keeps the Zombies in the pool for the Lightning Gun discharge :)
(You need to enter the pool to kill 2 Zombies so that the others will
teleport in - and there is useful ammo and armour there)

Killing the first Shambler early saves valuable Pentagram time later.

I don't even get the Bio-suit, that would use an extra second :(
Anyway, you're not in the slime for that long!

The Quad-Pentagram rocket jump near the end was just asking to be done ;)
It is possible to get from the Quad right to the end of the corridor with
one blast, but the angle is tricky, so a second or two may be saved here.
If the level was designed with this in mind, "Nice one, Sandy Petersen! :)"

If anyone cares to do this level with NO CHEATS, I will be very impressed,
since you will only have axe, shotgun and 25 shells to start!
Just getting out isn't good enough, since that is easy with 2 Rings ;)
I haven't done it yet, but getting monsters fighting eachother is vital,
and VERY good use needs to be made of the 5 Quads and 1 Pentagram!
Also, something you've been carrying around with you (and probably abusing by
hitting all the walls with it) for so long will finally earn its keep,
so you'd better clean off the rust, and make sure it's really sharp!
