DOOM Master Examination / DM-KIV kari.viljaranta@lahti.mailnet.fi

System used: 486DX/33MHz, 20MB RAM, Gravis Ultrasound 1MB, DOOM 1.2
Controls used: Basic keyboard: Arrows, ALT-strafe, SHIFT-speed, CTRL-fire
Authentication: FLLF-FFLL
Levels given: E1M9, E2M3, E3M6
                E3M6 is substituted with E3M1, E3M2 and E3M8 since I just
couldn't do it in time (Oh yeah? How about just couldn't do it?)

Levels: E1M9 Basically living on the edge with 1,2 and 3 % health situations
(the less the merrier :) I did a "better" version of this level
with not-so-much damage and a perfect pillar jumping round in
the chainsaw room, but it's somehow duller to watch...
Authentication dance (A.D. to friends and relatives) is done
                on the "chaingun-island".

E2M3 This is a funny (funny uh-oh) little level because the monsters
roam freely as I can't kill them at first sight. No matter how
often I played this, they always showed up at the most
unexpected places (and at the wrong moments). Maybe I should
                practise my fists more...
A.D. is done before opening the blue door.
(The blue door... The Blue Door... sounds like a gothic...)

E3M1 Just some basic dodging around... nothing fancy...
A.D. is done before going into the "tunnel of demons".

E3M2 This was kinda fun, once I learned where to go first, and
                where NOT to go first...
A.D. is done just before exit (almost forgot).

        E3M8 Another dodge 'em paradise...
Hey, A.D. is right where it should be.

FREE E2M8-NM. This is my favourite rocket launcher practising range.
Style ? Hmm... I'm happy to stay alive...

Well, that's about it, then. Actually I played two of these LMPs at
work on my 486/33, 8MB & SBPro an a monday morning when I didn't feel
like working, and FREE.LMP during my lunch-break (who feels like eating,
anyway?) a few days later. Somehow the FREE.LMP was hardest for me,
since I had only a few LMPs done altogether, and none of them had any
"style". I spent a whole day figuring out what would be a classy LMP,
and even made a small Berserk-maze with lots of demons and made quite
a few LMPs with respawn on. Then to my horror I noticed that none of
them worked while viewing, because when you are thrown around in
tight corners your angle seems to wander off and then the demo starts
hitting thin air and you get chewed by the demon standing about
20 degrees off your aim. Has anybody noticed something similar?
(No, I don't have regular access to Internet, only a mail-address.)
