** INTRODUCTION **

Hello and welcome to my "Flames Of Revenge" PWAD file. This file is a sort of "preview" of my
current project "City Of Dis" and will be part of that PWAD once it is released. "Flames Of
Revenge" is based upon the same concept of MAP11 in "Final Doom - Plutonia Experiment": the
player is trapped in a labyrinth with a number of Arch-Viles roaming through its corridors. To
escape the labyrinth the player is required to look for a specific key that will activate
switches located somewhere in the labyrinth that will eventually unlock the exit. Another threat
other than the Arch-Viles is rapresented by some traps which will also require a switch to be
deactivated.

** REQUIREMENTS **

You'll need a copy of the Doom2 IWAD file (doom2.wad) and also ZDoom (1.23 beta33 or higher).
If you have earlier versions of ZDoom go to the ZDoom site (http://zdoom.notgod.com) and 
download the latest one because older versions may not run with this PWAD. If you don't have 
DOOM2, but own a copy of Final Doom you can also play B79FLAMES.WAD with the TNT.WAD or 
PLUTONIA.WAD file as well; B79FLAMES.WAD will not run with the Doom or Ultimate Doom IWAD 
file (doom.wad).

** CUSTOM RESOURCES **

B79FLAMES.WAD contains the following resources:

TEXTURES: the "new" textures were all created by "cut & paste" of original DOOM or DOOM2 
textures with Paint Shop Pro. These textures are called DOORB791, MGRATE1, MOUNTAIN, SUPORT79 
and STEP3D.

COLORMAPS: the file contains 1 colormap (REDMAP) used for the "deep water" areas in the map.
The REDMAP colormap was included in the BOOM editing tools package.

LUMPS: the MAPINFO, SNDSEQ and SNDINFO lumps were all written with Notepad.

FLATS: the flat RCLOUD is used as a sky texture for the skybox and is based on the CLOUDS flat
included in the skybox demo WAD by Randy Heit. It was modified using Ulead iPhoto Express.

MUSICS: one music file in S3M format called DEMONREV.S3M is included in this PWAD. The song
title is "Demons' Revenge (1)" and I found it on a CD compilation of MOD files. I don't have
a clue about its author. The original file had the "MOD" extension rather than "S3M", but ZDoom
didn't playback it when I used it as a resource; so I opened DEMONREV.MOD in the ModPlug Tracker
editor and saved it to S3M. This simple operation allowed ZDoom to play the music file correctly.
Since ZDoom can normally play MOD files correctly I believe it was a problem with this specific 
file, maybe something to do with its header, that caused the playback problem.

SOUNDS: I've included a few new sounds to be used as ambient or for the sound sequences.
