AL'S REVENGE!

Play the most politically correct game of the century. (Yeah, I know that's not saying
a whole lot.) Now you can have all the fun of Election 2000 on your PC, without all
the headaches of the real thing!

Use the arrow keys to move around the board, collecting as many uncounted Florida
ballots as you can grab. But watch out for the Republican elephants, who will try
to trample you if they can. When you have collected all the ballots on
a level, you will hear the judge's gavel, so head for the flashing exit sign.

Every state you collect (regardless if you win the state or not) gives you an option
to recount, which you can use by pressing the space bar. This will render the
elephants powerless, and then you can send them back to their headquarters and
reclaim some more votes (which they have a tendency to accidentally pick up).

The object of the game? Try to get 270 electoral votes -- by whatever means necessary!

Enjoy the game, and don't take it too seriously! It's intended to have bipartisan appeal...

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0 SP3 or higher, Windows 2000
1024 x 768 screen resolution with 256 colors
12 MB of free system memory
8 MB disk space for installation
200 MHz CPU
Internet connection (for registration)

REGISTRATION

Registration is really easy, just click on the button in the startup screen. This will
launch your internet browser and take you to our order page at kagi.com, where you can buy
the game with a credit card. (Note that it may be called "E2K: The Game" on the kagi.com
order page.

It's only five bucks -- less than the cost of a movie! (Although it may not be up to
quite the same special effects level).

After you purchase the game, you will be sent an e-mail message with a registration code,
which you can enter into the game's startup screen. Nothing bad will happen to you
if you don't register, except that the karmic gods may frown upon you and give you
nightmares about Al Gore and George W... and this alone should be worth the $5.

This registration entitles you to all further upgrades -- once you enter the code, you
can upgrade the program without having to reenter any codes.

NOTE: If the button in the startup screen doesn't work properly, open the following link
in your Web browser and it'll work the same way.

HINTS

* S - Toggles sound within the game
* ESC - Terminates the game
* N - Go to the next level

* When controlling Al Gore, keep the key (space bar, arrow key, etc.) held down until it
produces the desired response. Al is not always the most responsive character in
  the world...

* Make sure to pick up Florida when you see it.
* Listen for farm animals in appropriate places.

SETTING THE SPEED

Due to the wide variations in the makes, types, and speeds of CPUs and video cards, the game
includes a speed control (F2 at the main screen). The speed can be set at any level from
0-9. However, the speeds 5-9 are for very slow machines, and I don't recommend using those
speeds at all. Try to stick with speeds 0-4. 2-4 is reasonable for most people. The
default is 2.

On an 800 MHz Pentium III with 128Mb of memory and a 16Mb 3DFX Voodoo video card,
running Windows NT 4.0, I use a speed setting of 2. 2 is a good speed. Yeah, definitely 2.
Or maybe 3.
