--------------------------------
06. Expert Computer User Features
--------------------------------
- Electronic Arts does not provide customer or technical support for the features described in this section.

a. Customizing Portraits - For advanced users only.

In order to utilize this feature you need to find a suitable picture in bitmap format (.bmp) that measures 128 x 128 pixels. The picture you have selected must then be converted to a suitable format using the dxtex.exe application.

1. Assuming a default installation location, the dxtex.exe program will be located in the "C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 2002\Bin" folder.

2. Run the dxtex.exe and from the 'File' menu, select 'Open' and select your picture file. Now from the 'File' menu, select 'Save As' and save the file to the "C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 2002\Data\Players" Folder.

3. Save the file as the same name as the golfer you have created or want to create.

4. The file will be saved as a .dds type file that is recognizable by Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2002 and the picture file should now appear as a player portrait option in the game.

It may take some fine tuning to correctly size your portrait or logo to the correct registration. Even though the bitmap required by the game is 128x128, your actual image should be smaller and placed to the upper left corner of the bitmap.

b. Customizing Flags Tutorial - For advanced users only.

Every course has a flag.dds file that is used as the default flag logo for that course. You can customize or replace these flags to hold your own tournaments or just for fun. Flag.dds measures 256 x 256 pixels.

Assuming a default installation location of C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 2002\

1. The dxtex.exe program will be located in the "C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 2002\Bin" folder.

2. Run the dxtex.exe and from the 'File' menu, select 'Open, browse to C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 2002\Courses.

3. Choose the file named Flag.tga (this is a sample image with the EASPORTS logo on it), click the Open button.

4. Make note of the logo placement on the image for proper placement of your own custom flags.

5. Now, from the 'File' menu, select 'Save As' and save the file to the "C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 2002\Courses" Folder.

6. Exit the dxtex tool by selecting File -> Exit.

7. You can now explore to the C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 2002\Courses folder and copy the flag.dds file you created into your own created course (if you're using the Course Architect program) or into the folder of one of the stock courses.

8. If you intend on using the default flag.dds files for the stock courses again, you might want to rename them to original_flag.dds before copying over them with your own custom flag.
