Merchant Prince II Readme 1.1

To install this patch, just copy these files into your existing Merchant Prince II
directory.

Patch fixes:

- Crash bug when mercenary groups healed in cities.

- "Load Old" from hitting Escape didn't restore the map properly until
you advanced to the next turn (although using the guildhall on
the Venice screen did work properly, as did quickload).

- Corrupt file in the Hanseatic League scenario that caused it to
crash when trying to load the scenario.

- Shipped English language version wasn't optimized.

- Selling trade units (camels, galleys, etc.) in multiplayer gave you the full unit
value instead of only half (player got the sell value twice).

- Warehouse button on Venice screen didn't work properly in
  multiplayer games.

- Commods screen "To <city>" button didn't work.

- Relic messages appeared twice at the start of a turn in multi-player
  games.

- Commodity animation toggle state did not save between turns in
  multiplayer games.

- Move mode for trade routes was off by one (if you set it to cautious,
it used normal, normal used risky, risky used cautious).

- State of move mode button on movement screen didn't change when unit changed.
  Units still followed appropriate mode.

- Edit box problems with Voodoo cards.

- Intro videos now allow return and mouse clicks to exit (in addition
to space and escape). "Button disabled" message disabled.

- Proper cancel button for "Exit Game" dialog (a big "X").

Initial Screen

The initial screen has one more option than was listed in the manual. You can also load
a saved multiplayer game.

Game Setup

The level of opponent is represented by various images.
Human figure: Human opponent
Hand: Novice AI
Abacus: Fair AI
Calculator: Average AI
Computer: Good AI
Brain: Expert AI

The frequency for pirates and storms is represented by colors.
Green: Rare
Yellow: Average
Red: Frequent

Note that in multiplayer games, you cannot change your name.

Movement Screen

Movement Modes are represented by the ship image.
Green: White sails with tan stripes
Yellow: Red sails with tan stripes
Red: Red sails with red stripes

The current unit's cargo appears in the globe, underneath the unit's image. To cycle
to the previous or next units in a group, click on the arrows on the globe.

The mouse-over text refers to the Ledger screen as the Info Screens

Trade Screen

If you move a commodity item to the trash cart, it will first try to sell the item.
It only trashes it if the city has no more demand.

Scenarios

In the scenarios, the Venice button still handles its normal duties, even if the
starting city is something other than Venice.
