1) UPDATE#3 CONTENT AND FUNCTION

Most of the features in this update were created as a direct
response to gamer feedback on the official Majesty forum. We have
also done significant optimization to the mechanics of the Last
Palace Standing multiplayer game. The details of these fixes follow.
We've broken them into three categories: New Features, Multiplayer
Modifications, and Bug Fixes.

NEW FEATURES: - Downloadable quest compatibility

- Downloadable quests will be posted in, the "Downloads" section of
the Majesty Website.

To launch a downloaded quest, select "Play Game" from the main menu.
Scroll to the lower left hand corner of the map, and click on the
large star in the middle of the ocean. The large star graphic will
not appear until you have downloaded a quest. A new menu will appear
with a list of all the quests which you have downloaded. Select the
desired quest and press the "Load Quest" button.

- Rats have had their hit points reduced in order to make their
combats more realistic for both low and high level characters.

- To improve the balance in the economic system, we put a cap on how
much revenue the Palace can generate during a given economic cycle
and made it so some buildings (mostly those without
cost-multipliers) don't count towards Palace revenue building bonus.
This is mainly Ballista Towers and Wizards Towers.

- To improve the Rangers, their combat statistics have been tweaked
up a little.

- CD music track transition system has been improved.

- Chats scroll more slowly to make them easier to read and help call
attention to them.

- To provide more challenge after a scenario is completed we've
included a method of adding excitement to post-victory gameplay.
We've added the ability to enter commands calling monster waves. Use
this as you would send a chat message, by pressing enter, typing the
text, and then pressing enter again. These are:

Command: "NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD" Action: Releases undead bad
guys all over the map Result Msg.: "They just won't stay dead!"

Command: "PREPARE TO DIE" Action: Releases Dragons and Rock
Golems to storm your town. (The hardest wave) Result Msg.: "Uh
oh. I'm really in for it now!" Command: "PUMP UP THE VOLUME"
Action: Releases general monsters all over the map Result Msg.:
"Let's make this a little more interesting..." Command: "GOBLIN
RUSH" Action: Makes a bunch of goblins rush your town! Result
Msg: "Goblins, Goblins everywhere!" Command: "GIVE ME ACTION"
Action: Sends in a Minotaur wave Result Msg.: "I'll take you
     all on!"

- Improved graphics cache handling in order to aid game speed.

MULTIPLAYER ("LAST PALACE STANDING" ONLY) MODIFICATIONS:

- There are new "No monsters" force pattern settings for more
focused head-to-head play.

- To improve the economic balance, each additional Marketplace built
will result in reduced income for ALL your Marketplaces. The overall
amount of money generated will still be greater, but with
diminishing returns.

- Each additional Trading Post built will result in reduced Caravan
gold from ALL your trading posts. The overall amount of money
generated will usually still be a little greater, but if your newer
Trading Posts are closer to your kingdom than the older ones, it may
actually total less gold.

- Rage of Krolm is now longer in duration and gives (only)
Barbarians a 4 point armor bonus.

- The cost multiplier for Inns and Royal Gardens has been increased.

- Reduced Elven economic bonus so that Elves now increase your
Marketplace income by +50% instead of +100%.

- To provide a better pace in multiplayer, the build rates of
magical structures have been reduced and Peasant/hero (Gnome/Dwarf)
repair rates have been slowed down.

- Reduced and capped the potential of Agrela healing spells.

- Lightning storm now does less damage per pulse. Keep in mind that
armor or magic bonuses can reduce this damage further.

- We've added an additional loyalty check to see if a reward-flagged
unit belongs to the same team as the unit that is considering
responding.

- Healers' loyalty statistic has been raised, making it so that they
heal enemies much less frequently.

- To improve combats between high-level heroes, we've done two
things. First, we've given heroes a damage bonus that is derived
from their current level when they are attacking heroes or buildings
that are on another team. Second, we put a cap on how high any given
unit's parry and dodge can rise through both level-advancement and
spell-induced methods.

- All heroes now get a minimum 30% chance to resist any (resistible)
spell.

- Heroes have a substantial increase in the amount of damage they
can inflict on buildings.

- Trading Posts have a much larger area of exclusion, meaning they
must be build at greater distances from Marketplaces and other
Trading Posts.

- Repair rates slightly increased for Peasants and heroes.

- Caps applied to total number of autobuilt structures in your
kingdom: Housing (6), Sewers (3), Graveyards (2).

- When a player is defeated, all their buildings (including
autobuilt ones) and flags are removed from the game. Their remaining
heroes may be tempted to join another kingdom if there are spaces
available in their associated guilds.

BUG FIXES AND GENERAL MODIFICATIONS:

- Heroes will not regard a Guardhouse as hostile unless it's been
upgraded to fire arrows (upgrade not available in "Last Palace
Standing" mode).

- The rare bug that would occasionally cause multiplayer games to
diverge (one player sees events happen one way, while others players
see something completely different happen) has been fixed.

- Fixed crash bug when Liche Queen, standing close to the map edge,
tries to summon a monster into an illegal (off-map) position.

- Made it such that when the Illusionary Hero spell was cast on
Flowering Strangleweed, the illusionary plant remained stationary.

- Corrected the behavior where Rangers who were resurrected after
dying while following a Barbarian got paralyzed while evaluating
their next action.

- Made it such that other players in a multiplayer game would not
pause indefinitely/crash if a player that paused the game crashed.
Now the pause is automatically aborted in such conditions and the
remaining players are allowed to continue playing.

- Windstorm and other area effect spells will now damage the
Hooligan in the Wizard's Curse quest.

- Trading Post and Marketplace build location restrictions are no
longer invalidated when Market Day is in progress.

- Treated the problem where the Zone would drop all/some players if
one person's connection speed was slightly sub-standard.

- Fixed bug where if a hero dies while being "leeched of levels"
(Wizard's Curse quest) there's a chance that his gravestone won't
time out.
