I.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

II.
INSTALLATION

Windows 95:
Copy the file "l2winfix.exe" into the Lords2 directory on your hard
drive (by default the path is "C:\Sierra\Lords2").

Go to the Start menu, select your Programs group, and select MS-DOS
Prompt.  Change to your Lords2 directory (usually by typing
"cd\Sierra\Lords2") and type "l2winfix".  When asked if you want to
overwrite the files type "Y" for yes.  Close the DOS Prompt window
when done by typing "exit". Start Lords of the Realm2 as you
normally do.


DOS:
Copy the file l2dosfix.exe into the Lords2 directory on your hard
drive (by default the path is C:\Lords2).

From the MS DOS prompt, change to the Lords 2 directory (usually by
typing "cd\Lords2") and type "l2dosfix".  When asked if you want to
overwrite the files type "Y" for yes.  Type "l2d" to start playing
Lords of the Realm2.

WHAT THIS PATCH FIXES

Together with the rest of the Lords of the Realm 2 team, I sincerely
apologize for these problems. I know from experience how frustrating
it is to buy a game and have a series of problems which get in the
way of your enjoyment of the game. We have been working hard to
track down and fix these issues, and to test our fixes to ensure
they don't create other issues, before getting them to you. I hope
you enjoy Lords 2 properly as a result.

1.  Internet Explorer vanishes/won't work after installing Lords of
the Realm 2

Certain versions of our newest products (NASCAR Racing 2, Lords of
the Realm II, Phantasmagoria 2, and the Screamin' 3D bundle) may
result in conflicts with the Windows '95 version of Microsoft
Internet Explorer v3.01 or higher).  Symptoms of the conflict will
result in a blank browser window upon initial launch or an
"IwEngInit failed" error.  If you are experiencing the above problems,
simply run the Sierra AutoUpdate Remain connected to your internet
provider, minimize the current screen, click on Start, Programs,
Sierra, Sierra AutoUpdate).  The autoupdate feature will automatically
connect you to the Sierra website and apply the necessary fix to
resolve the problem.  (Note: Reinstalling Microsoft Internet Explorer
(v3.01) is also an option)  Sierra apologizes for any inconvenience
this problem may have caused.  We appreciate your  continued business
and support.


WIN 95 USERS

2.  --  Problems with Direct X 3:

Please note that most users are not experiencing any of these problems,
and that users that are experiencing some problems seem to be
experiencing justone of the following problems:

(A): Game Crashes when trying to play the movie at the end of a
battle This happens on PCs where the video card drivers supplied
with Direct X 3 are not compatible with your videocard. Contact your
videocard manufacturer for an up-to-date driver, which should fix this
issue.

Turning Full Screen Mode OFF (which you can do from the Options Menu
in the game) fixes this problem.

(B): Game crashes when the user tries to build a castle
This happens on PCs where the video card drivers supplied with
Direct X 3 are not compatible with your videocard. Contact your
videocard manufacturer for an up-to-date driver, which should fix
this issue.

Turning Full Screen Mode OFF (which you can do from the Options Menu
in the game) fixes this problem.

(C): No sound plays at all
This problem arises where your soundcard driver is not compatible with
Direct Sound. Please contact your soundcard manufacturer for an
up-to-date

(D): Sound plays but there is a constant clicking noise in the 
background

This is a problem experienced by a very few users; it appears to
happen on some Sound Blaster clones where older soundcard drivers
are in use. Replacing the drivers used with up-to-date ones fixes
this issue. Your soundcard manufacturer should be able to supply you
with up-to-date drivers for your card.

(E):I am having sound problems when trying to run Lords 2   

Impressions Software has found that, due to an error in our internal
production process, we shipped a number of defective DirectX version
3 files with the initial shipment of Lords of the Realm II.  Although
we cannot confirm if any of our customers have been affected by our
mistake, correcting these errors may fix problems some people have
experienced running Lords II under Windows 95.

Specifically, it appears that we shipped defective copies of the
followingDX3 files:

D3DRGBF.DLL
SBAWE.VXD
VB102F.COM
ATI3D.DLL
D3D.UC
SUPERVGA.DRV

If you are having problems running DirectX version 3 applications
after  installing Lords II, we recommend that you re-install Direct X
version 3from a correct copy of DirectX version 3, such as can be obtained
from our web site.

If for example you find that after installing Lords II under 
Windows 95 you hear no sound during game play and especially if other
DirectX  version 3 games lose their sound, we recommend that you
re-install DirectX  version 3 from a source other than your Lords II CD.

You can obtain a correct copy of DirectX version 3 from
http://www.sierra.com/Archive/Demos
The name of the file is DXEXTRACT.EXE

3.  After installing Lords 2, game won't run and says it needs
"Dplay.dll"

This message comes up if you have NOT in fact installed the new
version of Direct X that Lords 2 uses; the installation interface
for Direct X in this circumstance is easily mis-understood; a panel
will appear during the installation process, saying that the Setup
program has found a previous version of Direct X. The program asks
if you want to install the new version needed by Lords 2 and allows
you to press either "OK" or "Re-Install." Normally, pressing "OK"
moves you forward in an installation, and so some users are naturally
hitting "OK" - although in fact this does NOT install the new version
of Direct X.

SOLUTION: Reinstall Direct X, using the "Install Direct X" icon in
your Sierra directory. Make sure you hit the "Reinstall DirectX" Button.


4.  I am having problems when Playing Lords 2 In DOS.
The following four bugs have all been fixed in this Patch (V1.03)
In the "Play Now" Campaign, every other map seems to be missed out.
The battles crash sometimes when playing with Music OFF
The map of Europe crashes with some settings from the Custom Game screen
The arrow buttons don't accelerate, for example  when I'm trying to buy
or sell something
