Thank you for downloading the BCT: Brigade Combat Team Version 1.25 upgrade.

The following are instructions for installing this patch. If you have any questions
or problems, please contact us immediately at:

***************************************************************************************
To install this patch:

1. Decompress the file. You will need a PKZip compatible decompression program.
Unpack all of the files to the same directory. You obviously figured this
   out, too.

2. Execute setup.exe. Choose 'Run' from the Windows 95/98/NT 'Start' menu and
select 'setup.exe' from the directory you expanded the file into

3. Install the patch. Once you start the setup program
YOU MUST INSTALL THE PATCH TO THE SAME DIRECTORY YOU INSTALLED BCT: BRIGADE COMBAT TEAM.
The install program will not figure this out for you. You can find this folder by
using Windows Explorer 'Find' function to find the file 'BCT95.EXE'. The folder
containing the file is the one you want to install the patch to. Follow the
instructions in the setup program to complete the patch process

4. Verify the upgrade. Run BCT: Brigade Combat Team 95 by choosing it from the
'Start' menu. Choose 'Start a New Game' from the beginning menu and pick any
scenario. For a version upgrade, CLOSE THE BEGINNING ORDER WINDOW after the
scenario loads (otherwise you woln't be able to see the next step). From the
'Help' menu, choose 'About...' The window should say:

	BCT: Brigade Combat Team
	Version 1.25b

If it doesn't, you probably installed the patch to the wrong directory. Repeat the
procedure starting with step 3.

The following is only a summary of the improvements we've made. This
upgrade is the result of volumes of input from our customers. THANK YOU!

Here is a list of the upgrades included in Version 1.25b.

Right-Click Cancel. The documentation states that right-clicking on a
unit with the "Field of Fire", "Max Range", or "March Speed" SOP set
would cancel that order. This now works correctly.

Loading Problems. This fix applies only to the BCT: Brigade
Combat Team JRTC Special Editon (specifically, the scenario
"J1_multi"). It will, however, effect future scenarios made by players like
you using the BCT Construction Set. Very large scenarios, saved as
saved games while the elapsed time is zero, cause BCT to crash. This
  problem has been fixed.

Illum Rounds. In some scenarios, the illumination round fired over
units caused the same damage as a nuclear round. Sorry, multiplayer
users, this problem has now been fixed.

Night Vision. In some scenarios, night vision devices can have the
reverse effect, reducing view ranges for equiped units. This can cause
units to engage at well below their normal max weapon range. This has
  been fixed in version 1.25b.

And earlier upgrades found in version 1.25a:

Terrain Features. The BCT: Brigade Combat Team game engine now
supports terrain of every type and description. From streams to cities, it
is now modeled in BCT. Terrain effects vision and movement. Some
terrain can be breached, some blocks everything, some can only be
crossed by dismounts. See the new Help File for more.

New Vehicle Types. Three new vehicle types have been added to the
BCT: Brigade Combat Team game engine.

Dismount Breacher. Dismounted Sapper Team capable of
       dismantling obstacles.

Dismount Indirect Fire. Dismounted Mortar Team capable of
firing just as artillery and mortars do.

Aerial Observer. Aircraft capable of designating targets for
Precision Guided Munitions. (OH-58D's in updated scenarios
       can now lase for Copperhead!)

Mission Updates. To optimize the features of BCT: Brigade Combat
Team Version 1.25, several missions have been rebuilt with new terrain
and vehicle types. Some other database corrections and changes have
also been made to these missions.

       KORATTK

       SCNKIEV

       KIEVRAID

E1_BLGRD (Requires BCT Expansion Pack 1 to see these
       changes)

E1_KSVO (No terrain updates, only database and unit types)

Zoom Contours. You can now see the terrain contour lines in both
minimum and maximum zoom levels. This feature can be turned on and
off from the "View Toggles" menu.

Cancel Mount/Dismount. Once time starts, you can now cancel an
order for a dismount to mount or dismount a vehicle by right-clicking on
  the vehicle.

Find Mission. Double-clicking on a fire mission in the fire mission log
now turns on fire mission planning mode, selects the clicked firing unit,
and jumps to the target location.

Direction Arrows. A new Toggle from the "View" menu allows you to
monitor the direction and speed of vehicles. When activated, a green
arrow will appear over all of the units on the map, indicating both facing
  and speed.

Multiplayer. There is a whole suite of new enhancements to multiplayer
play which make the multiplayer games both more stable and more
  interesting than before.

Commander's List. Having trouble finding opponents. You can now join
the BCT Commander's List, a list of players with BCT who would like to
play multiplayer games in the BCT Arena. Use the Challenge Wizard to
draft a challenge or send an ICQ message to the player EVEN IF YOU
DON'T HAVE ICQ! The List can be accessed from the Multiplayer
Menu, from the Start Programs BCT Folder, or via the internet.

Surrender. A new menu, "Multiplayer," has been added. This menu
contains the old "Chat Log" function. It also contains a new function
which allows you to surrender to your opponent. This is useful if the
OPFOR side is victorious in the defense, sense the game will run
forever unless the friendly player is wiped out.

Notify Chime. A chime now sounds when you initially connect with
another player and when the Chat Log is opened by a chat message
  from an opponent.

ToolTips. Floating windows now appear over units and destroyed
vehicles indicating the number, type, and unit designation, if
appropriate. This can be turned off with the "View" menu Toggle.

Moveable Windows. You can now move the BCT windows anywhere on
the screen. The Overview Map, Clock, Logs, Orders, all windows can
now be moved. The also now display a helpful title bar to tell you what
  they are.

Red Indicators. When you are playing OPFOR units (units marked by
red icons, either in a multiplayer game or a mirror scenario) the dots on
the Overview Map and the dead vehicle X's will appear red as well.

Find Highlighter. When you use the "Find" function from the "Edit"
menu, the selected unit will now be highlighted by being selected as a
group of one vehicle (i.e. a green box will appear around it).

Dismount Marker. When looking for a carrier to dismount, carriers able
to dismount (holding dismounts and stopped) are marked with a yellow
  X.

LOS Fan. Right-clicking while in LOS Fan function turns off the
  function.

Help File Update. The help file has been updated to include all of the
new features included in the version 1.25 upgrade. We have also added
a printable manual. To get it free please look below.
