[1] WHAT THE PATCH FIXES
====================================

- There was a bug fixed in the final locked job,
 ("Festival of Knights") to prevent a handcar 
 from getting stuck on a broken switch.

- There is a workaround for people that get 
  illegible "Green Screen" displays.
  (Usually Voodoo Video Card owners)
  See Section #4 below for more information.

- The patch marks the program's version as 2.01.
  You can see this by watching the credits
  (from the preferences screen).



[2] HOW TO INSTALL THE PATCH
====================================

Note that this patch is for the US version of 
"3D Ultra Lionel TrainTown Deluxe."   It cannot 
be used with any other version of TrainTown.

First, you must obtain the patch by manually 
downloading and running the TTUS201.exe file.

From this point, follow the on-screen instructions.
It should locate your installation of TrainTown 
Deluxe, update it, and let you know if any errors 
happen to occur.



[3] ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
====================================

If this patch is not to your liking, you may 
revert to the original version by uninstalling
the Traintown Deluxe program.  Then re-install the original 
version from the CD.  NOTE: When uninstalling
the game, be careful not to accidently erase all 
of the custom layouts you have created!

These changes were based on feedback from our 
users like yourself.  Feel free to be a part 
of our user community forums, which are located
off the main TrainTown web site.

[4] RESOLVING "GREEN SCREEN" PROBLEMS
=========================================

This patch provides a work-around for machines 
that displayed TrainTown Deluxe incorrectly.  This 
generally involved certain Voodoo Video Cards, 
and generally involved illegible green displays.

To avoid causing further compatibility problems
with other video cards, you must manually activate
this work-around if your card requires it.
We apologize for this inconvenience, but it is 
the safest solution for all our customers.

To activate the work-around, follow these steps:

1)  Run TrainTown Deluxe and click past 
    the intro screens to get to the main menu.
    The main menu has a background with 4 large 
    buttons down the right side of the screen.

2)  Use the keyboard to type
       |dispv2
    and press Enter.  

    IMPORTANT NOTE: the first character is the 
    "vertical bar" character, which is usually 
    the shifted backslash key.  It is NOT the 
    letter "I" or the digit 1.  

    If you enter the code correctly, you will get
    a message telling you to restart the game.

3)  Restart the game.  The game should now be 
    using "Display Version #2", and if you saw 
    ugly green displays they should now be corrected.

Similarly, you can enter :
	|dispv1
which will reselect the original 
"Display Version #1" method.
