Hello! this is the readme for the
   Quake III Arena Profile Maker

Creator: Richard Saunders (Reoccurring)

Version: 3.0

Description:
It's a simple enough program that lets multiple people
play the single player game while keeping their own player, scores
and settings. all you do is put it somewhere safe, like your quake
III arena directory or the extras inside that and then add a shortcut
to wherever all your other shortcuts to quake 3 are.

How to use:
to work the program is self explanatory. all you do is run the profile
maker and double click on your profile. then either leave the profile
maker still running or shut it down, depending on how you feel, before
going into quake 3.
to add a new profile click on add profile, to delete a profile click on
the profile you want to delete and click delete
to change your profile details such as your model and model name, you
still edit it thought quake 3 as all the profile maker is doing is swapping
settings files, quake 3 just loads the information in the q3config.cfg file
and uses that. when you change profiles you change the q3config.cfg file to
the file with your settings in.

Technical Info:
The program works on the technique where the q3config.cfg file is copied,
and each copy is a different profile. the program changes the profiles around
by saving each copy of the file (each profile) as a .sav file in a
Profiles folder located in the Q3 directory. It then replaces the q3config.cfg
file with your copy of the file (your profile). Don't worry because before
the file is replaced it in turn replaces the .sav file it came form,
so it saves the persons profile who was on it before you. There is a
default.cfg file also located there which acts as, well... a default template
for new profiles so don't delete it. a backup of the original q3config.cfg
file is saved in the baseq3 folder called q3config.bak and can be restored
thought the program or manually.
the program now uses a registry entry to save the programs settings so there
should be no problems with people that don't have the same directory
structure as i do.
