I. Installation Instructions

Disclaimer: If for some reason your system should crash, explode, or start
leaking a viscous green fluid, it is more than likely not going to be possible
to make a causal connection to the installation of these files. However, if in
spite of this you feel so inclined, you should know that the author shall in no
way be held responsible for damage done to your system if, for some reason, it
does not "like" these files.

The following files are included in this Winzip archive, and should only be
distributed as this particular file set:

readme.txt (you're looking at it now)
ffb.bat (batch file to launch the movie)
pak0.pak (all the goodies that make up the movie)

Extract all three of these files to quake2\zs\ If you do not install to
this directory, the batch file will not function correctly. Secondly, if for some
reason your quake2 directory is named something other than "quake2," then you will
need to modify the path in the batch file accordingly.

If you are using Winzip, folder names are saved in the archive (can be used
with the "use folders" option checked. Or you can simply create the 'zs'
subdirectory and manually extract the files to that location.

Once extracted, simply double click on ffb.bat to watch the movie. :)

II. Viewing Tips

As it is for Quake2 in general, this movie is best experienced with a 3D card
set to the best resolution you can handle. However, it has been fully tested and
will work fine in software mode. If for some reason the movie is starting Quake2
with something other than your desired settings, you should copy your
autoexec.cfg file (assuming you have one) into your quake2\zs\ directory, and try
again. If all else fails, start Q2 normally, open the console and type:

set game zs
map intro.dm2

This movie may prove to be a little demanding on your system, especially with
regards to sound. Best results are going to be achieved on systems that are above
the minimum requirements to run Quake2. And if your machine can handle it, view
this at your best non-net-tweaked settings re: framerate, resolution, and sound.

If you experience any problems getting the movie to play, or if you have
extreme performance problems, feel free to drop me an email at
overman@planetquake.com and we'll see if we can't sort it out.

Wall Pictures: Hehe, nice try. :)

Isn't it funny how The Artist Formerly Known as Prince had the commercial forethought
to write a for-sure comeback song like "1999", and yet the vast majority of computer
programmers waited until 1997 to start worrying about Y2K?

If you have read this far, you should be commended for your diligence. I suppose
there should be some helpful troubleshooting tips here, or perhaps some heinous dark
secret about my private life, or a cryptic message of some sort.

Well, now that you mention it, if you parse the first letter of every sixth word in
this file (starting with the second word), you will discover the location of the
easter egg in the main movie map.

If you tried that, perhaps some sort of psychiatric evaluation is a good idea.
