SETTING: "Coconut Monkey's Island Paradise"

STORY:

Coconut Monkey is a world-renowned game designer, and fans everywhere
have been clamoring for his next tour-de-force "Gravy Trader" for
many a moon now. Designed and programmed to perfection, GT will
allow the player to take to the high seas where they will produce
and sell the finest gravy products known to humanity. CM
was just putting the finishing touches on GT when Pierre, a
shoddy and disgruntled former employee, showed up on Island
Paradise with a squad of goons, intent on stealing GT and all
related properties.

And so the valiant Coconut Monkey must escape,
fighting through hordes of unsavory characters. And did we
mention that a long dormant volcano is about to explode,
the force of which will turn the island to dust?

Your mission:

Get CM to the only boat, or else all will be lost. But take
a good look at that sailing vessel...is it a boat, or something
much more....

*Registered Ver 3.14 of Quake 2 is required!*

*You ladies should play as 'male' player in this level because you are
playing 'as' Coconut Monkey, then you will hear his special sounds

As per the following diagram, create a directory in 'Quake2'
parallel to 'baseq2' named 'coconut' and extract pak0.pak and
gamex86.dll contained in 'coconut1.zip' directly into the 'coconut'
directory.

*** DO NOT extract into the 'baseq2' directory! ***

C:\QUAKE2
   |
   +--- BASEQ2
   | |
   | +--- MAPS
   |
   +--- COCONUT-+-pak0.pak
   | +-gamex86.dll

Start quake with the following command in the 'target' box of your
Win95 Quake2 shortcut:

C:\Quake2\quake2.exe +set game coconut +skill 2 +map coconut1
				      	[or Skill 0 or 1]

*make sure you enter the above command exactly and with proper and
single spaces

*if needed see end of this file for more info on running add-on paks *

SPOILER WARNING! Read no further if you don't want hints!

-some of the vegetation/trees/gravel/etc. can be climbed

-There is a grenade launcher top of cliffs straight out and above the
start cage [on the full moon side]. Jump out of cage and climb the
vines straight in front of you and in between the 2 lights. You can
shoot all with relative impunity from up there! And the view is nice!

-You will need to get in the shed at the start area. The shed door can
be blown apart with a grenade [or lotsa blaster shots]. Besides the
secret grenade launcher there are grenades on top of the cage itself,
so climb coconut tree that's holding the cage to get those babies.

-watch for rock seams!...they could be loose and dangerous rocks!

*** alternate commands to run .paks ***

From: A WORLD OF QUAKE2 - "How to run Quake2 .paks"

Create a directory under the Quake2 file. You can name it anything
you want but for illustration purposes I have just downloaded
usermap.zip and will name the new directory "usermap"

Unzip the file in your new directory. You should now see at least
two files.
     Pak0.pak
     usermap.txt

To play the level you must do one of two things...
1.At a dos prompt in c:\Quake2 type in
          quake2 +set game usermap +skill 1 +map usermap
To change the skill level just substitute +skill 1 with
		+skill 0 for easy or +skill 2 for hard.

2.If the above is too much to remember all the time you can
make a usermap.bat file and put it in your
Quake2 folder and just double click it when you want to play
	that particular level.
Simply open Notepad and type in...
          quake2 +set game usermap +skill 1 +map usermap
Save it as usermap.bat and put it in your Quake2 folder.

Hopefully you will now be enjoying that great level and be
able to have a lot of fun!
