Wedit Worms 2 Weapon Configuration Editor
Written By: Igor
Version 030798

DESCRIPTION
A nifty little user hostile program to let you configure your Worms 2
weapon configuration outside the normal limits. In short, its all about
banana bombs with 250 clusters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DISCLAIMER
1st off, I'm not responsible for anything having to do with this silly
little program. Use at your own risk. If it breaks your game, computer,
marriage or anything else its your problem. Not to be harsh, but this is
my first internet code release, and everybody else has a little disclaimer.

FILES
wedit.exe the editor
readme.txt this file silly
good1.wep a sample weapon configuration

DISTRIBUTION
Its free, give it to anybody you like...or don't like. Just make sure
they get all the files.

APPOLOGIES
Sorry this program is so darn hard to use...I'm not an interface kind of
guy, and I wrote this late at night for own personal pleasure. It works,
but its ugly. Also sorry to ANDY, the big worm guy for bothering him
with so many suggestions.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
The program should run on any machine that can run worms.

INSTRUCTIONS
Place wedit.exe in your weapon directory of Worms 2. (It can be anywhere if
you don't mind specifying a path later, but this makes it easier.) Now run
wedit. The program is nice enough to prompt you for the weapon file you want
to edit. Don't forget the .wep extension. Hit <ENTER> when you've entered
it. Now you will get a menu of choices. Press the letter by your choice and
hit enter. Heres what they do.

z-quit this ugly little program. Don't forget to save...it won't prompt you

l-reload the .wep file. You will see the use of this later.

w-write the .wep file. This is called save in some languages.

p-poke a value into the .wep file. A menu of some of the more fun
locations to poke values into will pop up (like banana bomb clusters, you've
got to try 35...you think the DONKEY's cool...:) Also the current value
of the recognised locations will be there too. You can enter any location,
but for your first try stick to whats there. First enter a location to
change and hit <ENTER>, then enter the new value and hit <ENTER>. Note only
numbers between 0-255 are valid as new values. Also, numbers of clusters
larger than 50 look really neat, but tend to crash the computer on impact :)
(You really gotta see those bananas :). By the way, I think one or 2 of my
preset locations may be wrong.

e-lets you take a peek at the value of a given .wep location

s-this is for you advanced users. Use this to search for a given weapon
value. You might notice that there are lots of numbers you can change that
I haven't mentioned...mostly because it takes a while to find them. Here's
how you can find those values yourselves. Open up Worms 2 and wedit at
the same time. Go to the weapon editor, and change whatever you are looking
for to 7 (there are no 7's in the file.) Save the weapon config. Load
the .wep in wedit, and search for 7. Now go back to Worms 2, change the next
item you are interested in to 7, save the config, reload in wedit, and search
for 7 again. Now it should find two locations (since you probably didn't
change the first one back to its default silly.) Be sure to write down
what you find, and feel free to email me any fun locations (who knows, I
might do a more user friendly update if you motivate me. Also, there is
a lot of stuff in that file that you can't find from changing to 7's, like
blast sizes, Priceless vase clusters, special weapons. Trial and error,
and some intuition from the other weapon patterns is all I can suggest.

QUESTION
This was coded in Visual C++. I had some trouble with getch and scanf...
scanf would always start with the last character I getch'ed. That's why
you have to hit enter after each letter. What can I do to prevent this?

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
Thanks to TEAM17 for a great game. Worms 2, banana's and probably most of
the other words I've used here are copyrighted to them. Also Olof Svensson
wrote a much prettier options configuration that gave me the idea. Take
a bow Olof :)
