Release notes for W:A Scheme Editor, v1.1 (24/03/1999)

The purpose of this program is to give you greater control over the various weapons and game options in Worms Armageddon than is available by using the game's built-in option editor. Some "hidden" options become available with this program, e.g. "indestructible land", and many parameters allow the fine tuning we were used to in Worms 2 (e.g. turn time).

It is somewhat experimental at present, so please don't be surprised or upset if you don't get the effect you were looking for! If you discover any interesting subtleties that you think I may have missed, PLEASE email me and tell me so that I can include them in the next version. The whole program is based on trial and error, and as such I need more input from more people before I can get it working perfectly.

The easiest way to use it is to put the .EXE and default.wsc into your schemes directory (USER\SCHEMES) and then run it. Change some options, save, and run W:A again.

Some points to note:

You may notice that when you select your scheme file in Worms Armageddon, some of the options you have chosen appear to have been overridden. For example, when you select a move time of 50 sec in the editor, W:A appears to change this to 90 sec when you select the file. However, when you start playing the game, you will discover that the options will work as you have chosen them.

Some of the parameters for some of the weapons do not make sense, e.g. "power" for the bungee rope. ("Power" for the ninja rope sets the length, the number of shots remaining, and the range of firing angles.) Experiment and see what you can discover, and then get back to me.

The power setting appears to wrap round to zero at a certain point for each weapon, but this point is not always the same. (Anything you can pick up on this would be very useful to me.) Try, for instance, setting the bazooka power to 51 and see how much damage it does... then set it to 52 and see what happens!

  Changes in v1.1
