* LEVEL DESCRIPTION *
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's a deathmatch level that I had done initially for Dawn of Darkness Total
Conversion, but it was just lying around, so I thought I'd slap in some Q2
items and release it like that.

It's a fairly small map with alot of passages around and lots of places to hide.
It has textures from Dawn Of Darkness, so additional credits go to Alex
"Toadeater" Kazhdan. If you like the textures, why don't you let him know.
(toadeater@wardsix.com) (Also, why don't you download Dawn Of Darkness...)

Because of the textures, it has sort of medieval feeling to it (Sort of
like those medieval levels in Quake1), which is pretty funny when mixed
with high-tech Q2 weapons and minelights.

You might wonder what the hell is going on with those weird lights, and
I can tell you. Once upon a time there were flames in those things.
I liked the shadows the flame holders casted, and when I converted the level
to Q2, I slapped in some mine lights but kept the flame holders to cast shadows.
There's also some "empty" flame holders (with no minelight on them), I
kept them because they offer a nice place to hide...

I also keep this level as my ultimate testimonial for hint brushes. r_speeds
were very high in that yard, but after adding quite a few strategically placed
hint brushes (check out the vissing time... ;), well, you can see the results...
Go ahead and and check it out with gl_lockpvs (and be amazed... ;)

To play, unzip "pak0.pak" to "...\Quake2\GarthDM\", and run;
"...\Quake2.exe +set game GarthDM +deathmatch 1 +map GarthDM"
There's no .DLL here, so if you want to play this with some mod,
just copy the .pak to the desired directory. (Rename if necessary)

Let me know how you like it!
