Setup Information:
------------------

IMPORTANT: Read this entire section before attempting to run any of the programs included in this alpha release of the
		    Tsunami Random Map Generator.

First unzip the entire contents of the zip file to a subdirectory of your Quake2 directory. It is required that the re-
sulting directory structure looks like this:

	x:+
	  |-Quake2+
	          |-Tsunami+
	                   |-RandomMap+
	                              |-Bin
	                              |-Maps

Make sure that when you unzip you preserve the directory structure of the zipped archive.

Next, locate the BIN directory and run the RUNME1ST.BAT program.

That's it! You've successfully set up the Tsunami Random Map Generator.

CAUTION: If you modify the RandomMap.INI file and then run the RUNME1ST.BAT program, any changes you made will be lost!

NOTE TO USERS WHO HAVE INSTALLED QUAKE TO A DRIVE OTHER THAN C:
---------------------------------------------------------------
By default, running the RUNME1ST.BAT program will place the following value in your RandomMap.INI file

	target_directory=d:\Quake2\baseq2\maps\

Change the drive letter to accurately depict where your Quake2 installation is prior to running Server.EXE.
If you don't, Client.EXE will crash with an Invalid Memory Access error dialog.

Uh Oh! What Else Do You Need?
------------------------------

You will need to download ID Software's map compilation utilities for Quake II if you don't already have them.
It is suggested that you place them in the BIN directory of your Random Map Generator installation directory.
However, if you already have these utilities on your machine, you may edit the RandomMap.INI file to point to
	your copies of the files.

Don't have them? Head out to Qoole which is at http://www.qoole.com. The utilities are available on their down-
load page. Look for the q2utils hyperlink. While you're there, check out the rest of their site and read up on
Qoole. It is our editor of choice. We highly recommend it.

Usage:
------

The only program you should ever attempt to run is SERVER.EXE. If you attempt to run the CLIENT.EXE program you will
more than likely not get any desirable results. It certainly won't hurt your machine, but it won't do anything for
	you either.

To set map generation options edit the RandomMap.INI file. It has been heavily commented for you. There is not a whole
lot that is user configurable for this alpha release. That will definately change in future releases.

To generate a new map simply open a DOS box and locate the BIN directory for your installation of the Random Map Generator,
then simply type: server <ENTER> Or you can execute SERVER.EXE from the Windows Explorer.

What To Expect:
---------------

The SERVER.EXE program is not the most friendly program in the world. It provides no output until it begins the actual
compilation process of the generated map. At that point you will see 3 successive DOS boxes open and the map compile
utilities will be run. Once QRAD3.EXE has completed the new map will be available to Quake II. In future releases this
program will provide some form of output.

Compilation time may be anywhere from 2 minutes on up, depending on the complexity of the chosen prefab foundry and the
size the bounding box for the template. Both of these parameters may be set in the RandomMap.INI file.

How to Play the Map:
--------------------

To play the new map, you have two options:

		1. PREFERRED: Start Quake II with the following syntax: quake2 +map sample.bsp <ENTER>
		2. Start Quake II. Begin a new game. Pull down the console and type: map sample <ENTER>

What's Next?
------------

I hope you get as much enjoyment out of playing random maps as we did bringing them to you. Stay tuned to our web site
http://www.tsunamitech.com for news. We will soon be releasing a version of CTF which incorporates the random map
	generator.

We will eventually be releasing an SDK to the random map generator. Want to know how you can influence the engine without
any programming? Look for the SDK to the prefab foundries, soon to be released!
