After a few beta patches and point releases, id Software has yet to make use of the
CTF sound effect naming scheme by making seperate sound effects for flag taken, flag
returned, and flag captured sound effects for each team (red and blue).

Out of boredom (and the curiosity to see if I could make decent sound effects) I have
done the job for id, free of charge. :)

WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!

The pk3 file does not do anything to pak0.pk3, but it does
replace files IN that pak file. Consequently servers set to "sv_pure 1" will think
that these files are allowing you in some magical fashion to CHEAT. Even though this
is an impossibility (them being CTF sounds and not pain sounds or some such), "pure"
servers WILL kick you without warning.

This of course goes for just about ANY files you put in a pak that are read AFTER those
found on the server (read: pak0.pk3).

Why we got 5 id employee player models that are butt ugly instead of CTF sounds is a
complete mystery.

Mine are pretty good concidering, but I'd rather have Xian do the new ones so they
match the other sounds. Feel free to mail livehumanfeedback@idsoftware.com and let
them know that you would like some professionally done wavs like mine in the next
version of Quake 3: Arena. I recommend the following:

Dear id Software,

I see all six files in pak0.pk3, and I know they were put there for a reason. Please
make seperate sound files for the red and blue teams for CTF. Essobie made some, but
since sv_pure thinks they are cheating, I keep getting kicked off servers when I have
them installed.

Thank you,
