Door with lighted windows by Travis "talmand" Almand

This is a rather easy thing to do. I have included
in the map two such doors. The door that will not open is
good for start positions for single player maps or just for
looks, the other is a normal type door.
Any medieval door texture would work but ones with
panels in them are best. Make a brush with one of the
small window textures and place it on top of the door brush
to make it look like it is part of the door. You should be
able to make both brushes line up but that depends on how
much detail you want.
Once you get the brushes in place then simply place
light entities in front of the window textures to give the
appearance of light shining through. If a brush is put on
top of the doors (or door is in alcove) as in the example
map then the lights must be placed off the door a bit or a
severe shadow will appear above the door, unless of course
this is the intended effect.
To do this with a normal door simply make the
window brushes doors and make them identical to the door
they are placed on top of. Another way is to group both
brushes that make up the door and window and then make that
group a door. That's the way I did it. They should open up
together to give the illusion of a door with light shining
through from a bright room on the other side. The room on
the other side is bright right?
And remember guys, this is roughly done, it's
just meant to be an example.
