StartMap by Nolan Pflug

Description: The Start level in map format.

Now you can load the start level into your favorite editor to see how things
were done. Grab some architecture, find out how to set skill, use
registered only triggers, and more.

I was able to compile this and run it in Quake and I couldn't tell the
difference except for one small thing. If you stand at the top of the
slanted stairs in the episode 3 hall and drift back down, you get stuck
between the stairs. This doesn't happen in the normal start level, and I
don't know why it's happening. I counted the pixels and they are the same!
Maybe it was the qbsp I was using....

Also, some of the textures might not be aligned right, but I got the obvious
ones right.

-------------------------------------------
Just why did I do this?

Well, lots of people seem to want to load id's levels to see how they did
stuff, and since they only released dm1 and a modified e1m1, I thought I'd
supply everyone with one more of the 38.

I used Bsp2Map to find the entities' locations and brush locations. But all
brushes that Bsp2Map created were either resized or deleted. I used
Worldcraft to do all the brush stuff.

It took me over a month to do this, so I probably won't be doing any more.
However, if several requests come for the same level, I might get coaxed into
doing it. :)

While you're here at cdrom.com, go to the quake/demos/e directory and watch
all my Nightmare speed demos!
