--- Play Information ---
Game : Unreal v224

Level Name : The Matrix (dmTheMatrix.unr)

Single Player : No
Cooperative : No
Deathmatch : Yes (It's a small level, I recommend 2-8 players)
Dark Match : No
Difficulty Settings : No
New Sounds : No
New Graphics : Yes
Known bugs : **Play this level on a LAN or else with a low
: ping, see below for more *********
: Because of the highly unusual nature of this level, there
: are a few inherent problems. When looking into the
: distance, the far objects may black out. Occasionally you
: may be able to see through a wall. The view will correct
: itself when you get closer to the object in question.
: These problems are due the the HEAVY zoning this level
: uses in order to walk on walls, and there's not much I can
			: do to prevent it.
: The "power" to slow projectiles works spottily sometimes,
: although sometimes it's activated too late to work. It
: also may have problems working across zones. It works
: best when fighting on the same level as your enemy.
: Also, this level is not optimized for bots; due to the
: wacky setup of the level, the bots have no idea what's
: going on, and can't fight properly. I'm trying to make : the Agent a bit smarter, but I'm having problems with that
: the agent work better as well; sometimes he won't fire on you
: and then suddenly he springs to life and goes house on you.
: Also, occasionally when entering the triangular halls, you
: may get stuck on what seems to be an invisible hall; this seems
: to happen totally randomly, and unfortunately it's the game itself
: that's doing it; there's nothing more in the level I can do to
: prevent this- again, it's due to the HEAVY zoning. If you seem
: to get stuck, try moving around to see if you can find a hole to
: fall in; if you cannot, unfortunately you'll have to kill yourself
: with the dispersion pistol or suicide command. Fortunately, this
: doesn't happen often; it happened to me about once every 20 minutes.

--- Construction ---
Editor(s) used : UnrealEd Beta
Base : New level
Construction Time : About two weeks. Half of which was scrapping and starting
: over, due to a fatal flaw in my first design (ran out of
				: zones!)

Installation
------------
Unzip the the files. Place them into your directories under the unreal
directory: the .unr file goes into the MAPS folder, the .utx files go into the TEXTURES
folder, and the .u file goes into the SYSTEM folder.

Author's Notes
--------------
*****>>>>>>>>>>>>>>FIRST AND FOREMOST:**********
In my testing of this level on my own server, I implore one thing:
This level should be played either on a LAN or else on a server with
a really low ping. I tested playing with a 350 ping, and it was
beyond unplayable. You will never see your shots, jumping works weird,
and movers look odd. I have also played on a LAN, and it was fine.
So, until I learn better, I advise playing this level ONLY with a very
low ping.*********************************
Whew. What can I say? This is the weirdest thing I've ever work on,
and I pride myself for working on weird things. I realize that there
are a lot of inherent bugs in the level, but I've fixed them to the
best I can and the rest are just due to the nature of the beast- the
game certainly wasn't intended to handle a level like this. The only
one that's REALLY annoying is the invisible wall bug, and I also don't
like releasing a level that has no bot support, but alas.
People who have tried this level either seem to love it or hate it;
not much room in between. Me, I found it a blast, although it can
run a little strange at times. It ended up looking nothing like what
my original vision was; unfortunately, my original vision used about
25 zones for a single room, which would be a TINY level, since Unreal
can handle only up to 63 zones. (For reference, each of the triangle
halls uses about 14 zones). So I settled for a simple arena-sort
of design, with a few surprises. Actually, come to think of it...
EVERYthing came out different from the way I envisioned- but I'll let
you ponder what I envisioned- maybe I'll be able to realize it someday!
I also wished I could do the Agent a little better, and was going to
scrap it, but left it in as a novelty. Oh, the loss of pathnodes...
There's more I can say, but it'd probably be redundant. I'll stop now!

GIVE ME FEEDBACK! I want to know what people like, what they don't like, how it runs,
weapon placement, suggestions, etc. I really do listen and adapt levels to what people
like!

Changes
-------

Changes from the beta version:

1. Modified DecelBoots; longer lasting, more of them, intensified effect
2. Tried to make agent more aggressive, he still sometimes doesn't attack on sight tho
3. Minor visual fixes
4. Added music

Changes from 1.0:

1. Converted to 224. Required some fiddling, *most* everything should be the same.
2. The Agent became a NIGHTMARE! I had to tone him down, and he still is a demon.
Dunno what they did with the bots, but he certainly woke up!
3. The boots got a bit messed in the conversion- I *think* I changed everything back
   to how it was.
