Build Time: Probably about a week's work spread over two months

Release Date: 26th October 1999

Description:

This is my first Unreal map that's hopefully worth distributing. It looks a bit half-finished, but the basic level structure is complete. It's a relatively small deathmatch level loosely based around a wrestling ring. Perhaps I will release an upgraded version in the future with proper custom textures, but feel free to modify this level as long as you give me credit for my work.
All the texturing in this level consists of flat colours. In terms of level structure, some jumping is required, especially in the central section. There are no doors, and I haven't put in any items except for four start points.

Available Weapons:

None. Because I haven't played an Unreal deathmatch against human opponents, I don't know what the best balance of weapons/items would be or where they should go. Add your own weapons, or alternatively just play with blasters! There are plenty of dark corners to hide in, although firing does give away your position...

Known bugs: Everyone enters a deathmatch at the same point, causing some early unfair squishings. Some ceilings are quite low, making some areas inaccessible to non-humans. There are some graphical glitches in the distance, especially noticable in the long corridoor. Finally, on the steps leading up to the entrance above the ring, there is a section of floor which has a strange effect if spent shells land on it. Instead of bouncing once or twice then landing flat, spent shells appear to continually move around while making a buzzing noise until the dissapear.

Additional Files:

To play this level, you will need to unzip the following included files into the "Textures" folder in your Unreal directory:

	- Ring Custom 1.utx
	- Ring Custom 2.utx
	- Ring Custom 10.utx
	- Flat Colour.utx
	- Flat Colour 2.utx

Also included are some custom brushes created with the editor for this level. All brushes have only the default texture applied, so they should load without the additional texture files. You may use these brushes in your own levels if you want.
