Description: size: 4.69 meg Sci-Fi
----------------------------
DMMarsComMesa is a huge canyon with a mesa in the middle, on top of which is a
communications station. The canyon has a hangar on one side, a fuel depot on the other
a tricky rock pile at one end and an archaeological dig at the other end. The narrow path
to the top of the mesa is treacherous( especially if guarded by a bot!). It might be better
to ride one of the skimmers to the top or one of the 2 assault ships up. just be careful, the
aircraft are dangerous too. there are plenty of places to camp and hide but you may be there
for a long time without action. The canyon is mostly open and if you wander you will find
combat somewhere along the way.

----------------------------
known bugs:	several bsp holes throughout the map, some bots get hung up or camp,
movers will become completely black when they pass through shadows,
frame rate can really bog when you are up high in view of everything
or on movers( level is huge!), special closed circuit televisions using
skyzone info as a camera with screens located on consoles within
the hangar and in the mesa facility don't look or work right when
using a Voodoo 2 card, but do work in software mode. Movers have
invisible fields( I dont know why) which can kill those that get in the way.
                Caution:
                approach aircraft from behind!

STORYLINE: MARS COMMAND EPISODE 1
Mars has been a successfully terraformed and breathable planet for only a couple decades
following a massive push for colonization and resource exploitation. Mars Command is the
Military/Governing body of Mars, or at least so the Multilateral Union back on Earth wants
Martian citizens to believe. A rebellion is slowly growing against Earthbound, Megacorporate
exploitation of Mars and its moons. Mysterious artifacts are being uncovered at mining sites
that are then covered up and kept secret by Multilateral Union (M.U.) mandate. Mars Command
will see that the will of the M.U. is carried out on the remote red planet. All opposition
to Earth's central authority will be surgically removed from the face of Mars. Historians
will rememer that the first signs of "Mars Madness" began at the isolated OUTPOST MESA . . .

-----------------------------
AUTHOR'S NOTE: This level is only my 2nd level for Unreal. The movers, the landscape,
are all experiments to see how far I could take certain concepts. Flaws
and errors are glaring in many spots but I hope the scope of the map will
make up for its pitfalls. Lag is a definite here and smaller processors
may have to sizzle to play this level. Suggestions, problems, solutions and
ideas are welcome. DMMarsMesa was meant to use the outdoor, open air envi-
ronment as the field of battle and staging area for flying movers. It would
be nice to see more outdoor levels in deathmatch, it makes for a different
combat experience. Two more Mars Command levels for DM are almost finished.
They too are experimental but not as buggy
