Title : The Caverns of the Hellraisers
Filename : DmHellRaisersCaverns.unr
Author : Orion, aka Francois Lacombe
Email Address : asimov@globetrotter.net
Misc. Author Info : Born and raised in the province of Quebec, Canada, I have been
very interested by all sorts of video games since they started
coming out (yes folks, I am old enough to remember pong). Unreal
is the best one of its category I have seen yet and the included
level editor just begged me to be used. DmHellRaisersCaverns
is my third published level. The others are DmTempleOfTheMoons
and DmSkaarjArena, both of which are also available at
                      Nali City.

Description : This is a deathmatch level that will easily accomodate ten players
and over. It was intended to become the home base of the Hellraisers
clan, which has since been disolved. I was asked to make
something big, arena like and hellish looking. Plus, I was to put
in no GESBiorifles, miniguns or dispersion pistol powerups.
I hope this level is to the liking of those who asked me for it,
even if the Hellraisers clan no longer exists as such.

Credits : Sincere thanks to the many people who wrote tutorials for
www.unrealed.net. These tutorials were the sole source of information
I used to teach myself how to use unrealed. The results, good or
                      bad, are entirely my fault.

* Construction *
Base : New level done from scratch.

Build Time : Started on wednesday September 8. 1999 and completed on saturday
                      September 25. 1999.

Editor used : Unrealed, the beta version, straight from the CD.

Known Bugs : No detectable bugs. There are a few small and intermitent
HOM effects here and there. The map's architecture is quite
complex and I suppose this is unavoidable, but there are
                      really very few of them.

For once, here is a map that the bots absolutely love. They move
easily everywhere, find all the weapons, navigate the hidden
corridors perfectly and use the teleport pads with no trouble
at all. They will even remember to get out of the lava or
the slime when they fall in.

Some places in the map are quite dark. This is as intended
since they are meant to be lit indirectly by lava glow. But when
I tested the map in software rendering mode, these places
came out dark indeed. Players will have to accept that because
I can't make the map come out right with both software and 3d
card rendering. It may just be a quirk of my own system. Your
                      results may vary.
