In the time of creation, one god set about a path to greatness. He created two groups of beings, from the same genetic material. One red, one blue. Equal in all ways except one. The color of their flag. To each he gave a simple command: KILL OR DIE. The people of The Jihad know of no other life than murder. To live is to kill, to die is to die fighting.

The Jihad for Unreal

FEATURES OF 0.3 (I'm going to repeat the features from 0.2 since that one was all messed up!!)


1: Moved important Jihad settings to the server admin! You can now change the following settings in unreal.ini(by adding them to section [Jihad.JihadGame]):

SmiteTime=300 	//time (in seconds) until the losers get smitten! This is now server 		definable!

BroadcastInterval=30 	//how often (in seconds) the server announces the count-down timer)

SmiteMessage="I'm not happy with you now.. DIE!"	//what people see when they get 		smitten by the AngryGod

FavoriteMessage="You've done well my child"	//this is what the person who actually hit 		the JihadTrigger sees when the smite timer runs out.

2: Added Jihad_Binoculars item. this offers a quick 4x zoom at when activated 
		(this is an unfinished item!)

3: Enhanced weapons! Now, the automag, stinger, ASMD, 8ball, flak cannon and mingun all have a random 5-15% chance of lethality for headshots!! (in laymens' terms: if you shoot people in the head you have a much better chance of killing them!)

4: Fixed the bug where people respawn with no dispersion pistol after getting killed

5: removed the TriggerLights until the new low-level network code patch from Epic is released

6: NEW FOR 0.3! CUSTOM HUD! We really think you're gonna like this one! A word of advice, though- the hudmode that has the armor in the top left conflicts with our hud.. Try another one for the best jihad experience. WORKS ON CLIENT/SERVER (C/S)!!

7: Respawning players are now invulnerable for 5 seconds, with kewl glowy colorey effect!

9: Cheesy bot workaround! bots will now join a team and actually play (kinda. they still don't know how to appease the AngryGod)

10: Fixed the problems in the cave (i think.. lemme know if you find anything)

11: CUSTOM SCOREBOARD! Kewlio Kustom font and col0rz which show what team each player is on! WORKS ON C/S!!

12: miscelaneous other fun stuff.. it's 7:30 am and we've been finishing this up since 5pm.. i'm tired. play jihad.. see the goodies yourself! OH! the dm_genesis map's templezone is bigger now, and the whole sanctum is low-grav... was an accident but then i decided that it's more fun that way! tell me what you think!!

13: Included in this Zip is a new program called Uman Server, which was so cool that as soon as i saw it i emailed the author and asked if i could put it in with Jihad!! He not only said yes, but he programmed in Jihad server support!! CHECK IT OUT !!!!!

OOOh i've been waiting for this! NONE! That's right, we think everything we put in actually works this time!! This isn't the final build, just the final beta! next release will be a release candidate with more new items, updated graphics and sounds, etc etc etc (and lots of fun maps too :)

Playing Jihad


THE RULES

STARTING OUT
 When you spawn on a Jihad server in DM_Genesis, you begin on team YELLOW, with no weapons, in a special spectator area. Take a look around. you will see numerous 'video screens' that show the game in action. You will also see two colored teleporters.

JUMP INTO THE GAME 

Step into a teleporter and you will immediately be set to that team, as well as sent to the team's base area. You will be given your dispersion pistol upon spawning. 


TIME TO KILL!

The goal of Jihad is simple: Control the TempleZone. Where is the TempleZone? That depends on the map. But be sure, all roads lead to the temple. When you reach the temple, find the Holy Switch. "Control" will switch to your team's color. If your team is in control already, nothing happens. 

DEFEND THE TEMPLE!!

The God knows who is in control (as do you! colored lights and torches around the level reveal who is holding the temple) and will return very soon to smite the infidels.
If one team can keep control for a continuous 4 minutes, the opposing team will be Struck Down By The Power Of The Angry God. All players in the controling team will gain one frag for each smitten enemy. (for example, in a 4 vs 4 game, each player gains 4 frags.)

Killing someone inside a pre-defined TempleZone will give the defender a bonus of 2 frags.


TEAMS ARE UNBALANCED? SWITCH TEAMS!!
In every jihad map, there is an Exit teleporter. This will remove you from the gameplay arena, strip you of your weapons, set you to team Yellow, and place you in the spectator area. You will retain your personal frag count until you reenter the game or leave the server.
Where is the exit? look around. It's a yellow teleporter. (can you say coward? ;)



NOTES:
1: there are many ways to the temple, and many offensive/defensive positions. Make use of them! Your only goal in Jihad is to take the temple or die trying!!!

2: There is NO health on a jihad map! Again, the goal is to defend the temple or die trying! Make use of armor available throughout the level, and use your team!!

3: THIS IS A BETA RELEASE!!! There will be flaws in the code and map; please let us know if you find any! But before you do, check the web site for the KNOWN ISSUES!

4: WE WANT FEEDBACK ON THIS MOD!! We would love any ideas anyone can give us! The more you input, the better the mod, so let's hear it!
