Tricon v2.0 FAQ

Q. There is no documentation or help file. Why?
A. Got some free time? We dont have the time, and we also
feel Tricon is extremely easy to use. Send us mail if you
really want to take on this task :)

Q. Damn pager doesnt work! Whats up?
A. There are 2 pagers in Tricon. One is for in game pages,
which is the one being setup in the sounds page. The 1st
field (keyword), is what word to watch for being said by
people in the game, but only in NORMAL chat, not TEAM CHAT.
If they say the set word, Tricon catches it, and plays the
WAV file set in the 2nd field (wav file name). Enter the wav
file name WITHOUT the .wav extension. The wav file must also
exist in the sound path as set at top of the sound config form.
The 2nd pager in Tricon is a Tricon/Tricon pager for admins to
wake each other up. The trigger is hard coded as !page, and
format is !page nickname, typed in Tricon chat window. This
pager does not send to game, only to other Tricon Admins
   running on same server.

Q. Where are all these neat things hidden?
A. Right clicking is a good thing, especially on NickList window,
and on the Main Channel window.

Q. A lot of the options are greyed out in the right click menus!
A. Register your copy. Its FREE. Choose Help/Register and follow
   the directions.

Q. I run multiple servers, and use Tricon to admin them all. I want
different userlists and wordlists in each copy. Why cant I do this?
A. Tricon saves all settings in an INI file. If you run the same
installed copy multiple times, they all read the same INI. Install
new copies for every server you wish to admin differently, and
install them to NEW directories! Or just copy your existing install
to a new directory and run 2nd copy from there.

NOTE: Tricon is totally self-contained, no server-side .cs files are needed.
In this respect, there are a few drawbacks. Most notable is that all
stats (Player team, score etc.) may not be up-to-date every second. To
keep all those items updated would entail polling the server every
second, causing major server lag. So many updates are incorperated into
other functions, therefore updating many things at once. This is a minor
inconvience in my opion, as the most you would be behind is maybe 15
seconds. This saves bandwidth and CPU time for the players.

More to come as things pop up :)
