                ---------------------------------------
                   Tribes team-based logos and skins
                ---------------------------------------

In this zip file are the 24-bit bitmaps of the source art for the
"team-specific" textures in Tribes. These include textures that appear
in and on buildings, doors, flags and armor skins. Also included, as
examples, are the Blood Eagle (beagle) versions of the base textures.

After customizing these textures, save them as 8-bit BMP files.
You will need the SkinTools available from the Tribes players' site
(http://www.tribesplayers.com) to process your new textures so they
will be usable by Tribes. Please see the SkinTools README for more
detailed instructions on how to use the MAKESKIN utility.

Please use the following palette files (from the SkinTools archive)
in remapping the textures:

    PALETTE FILE TEXTURES
    ------------ --------
        pal1 *.emblem1.bmp - *.emblem11.bmp

        pal2 *.door.bmp

        pal3         *.flag.bmp; *.harmor.bmp; *.larmor.bmp;
                    *.lfemale.bmp; *.marmor.bmp; *.mfemale.bmp

EXAMPLE: You've created a texture called mylogo6.bmp, to be used in
place of base.emblem6.bmp; this texture is to be used for your tribe,
whose "prefix" is WKRP. At a DOS command prompt, type:

makeskin pal1 mylogo6.bmp wkrp.emblem6.bmp

That should do it! See the SkinTools archive for more information on
placing your custom art into the game.
