			Release Notes

When playing Multiplayer games, all people in the game MUST have 
installed this Exact same Mod or it will not work.  Send this package
to all your friends and you'll be set. :-)

Note: After installing this Mod, MPlayer will think you have an old
version of R6 and will "update" it for you.   To continue using the new 
weapons on MPlayer, you'll have to install this Mod Again after joining 
the launch room.   

After any patches you install, you MUST reinstall this Mod in order to
use the new weapons.

		Installation Instructions

Dbl click on the Mod.exe and select the Rainbow 6 Directory.

To Uninstall the Mod, Dbl click on the PelsRemove.exe and select the
directory where Rainbow 6 is installed.  This will restore all the
Files to their unadulterated state.  :_)

			Purpose for this Mod

The thing that really burns me about this game is the fact that bogies 
can jump out of a hummer or out from around a corner and Instantly 
target you with supreme accuracy.  Meanwhile it takes a good 2-3 
seconds before your targeting recticle to "zero in" on them.  If you 
fire before it has "zeroed" you will likely miss, resulting in your 
death.   If you wait for the "zero" the bogie will fire before you 
resulting in your death.   This is a dilemma that is game specific and 
simply does not exist in real life.     

Military Doctrine dictates that for situations such as the ones in R6 
the weapon be carried at the ready and the soldier sight down the 
barrel at all times.  This means that everywhere the soldier looks, her 
weapon "looks" at exactly the same spot.   Weapons are NOT carried in a 
relaxed position pointed down at the ground, as depicted in this game. 
 The reason for this is to minimize the reaction time between target 
acquisiton and pulling the trigger.  The response time of a highly 
trained soldier carrying her weapon at the ready is about .10 seconds. 
 If weapons were carried in a relaxed position, then brought up to the 
shoulder to fire, response time would increase drastically to .50 
seconds or more.  This is one of the reasons why a real life SWAT team 
can enter a terroist situation and clean house w/ little to no loss of 
life.  Indeed, the kill ratio of a black ops soldier is about 150 to 1. 
 
The other thing that I found grossly unrealistic in this game is the 
way bullets are magically "teleported" 1 meter or more from the firing 
path to strike the walls all around an enemies when auto fire is 
selected.  Apparently, the designers were trying to imply that recoil 
of the weapon was throwing the aim off so much that is would be 
impossible to hit a target 2 meters in front of you in fully automatic 
mode.  I'm here to tell you that is completely untrue.  Recoil of the 
M-16 for example is equivalent to that of a .22 rifle.  The M-16 does 
not "spray" bullets 3 meters apart to either side of a target when 
auto-fired.   The "teleporting" phenomena is quite physically 
impossible.   The only way to spray bullets is to move the weapon from 
side to side, while firing.   An anti-terrosit soldier is not intersted 
in making a bullet hole siholette of her target; therefore, the weapon 
will be brought to bear on the terroist, not the wall behind him.  
Typical groupings of the M-16 on Auto fire is about 10 - 15 cm at 50 
meters, NOT 100 -150 cm at 2 meters.  

As I step down off my soap box, I will say that the above two items 
have been made more true to life with this mod.   I trust you will 
enjoy the increased realism.
