-------------------------- Chokehold ------------------------------
------------------- A Half-Life deathmatch map ----------------------
=====================================================================

------General Information--------------------------------------------

Title : Chokehold
Filename : choke.bsp
Author : Atticus "Voltron" Culver-Rease
Author Email : atticus@universal-net.com
Previous Maps : None. This is my first attempt at mapping.

------Map Desciption-------------------------------------------------
This map was designed for fast and furious Half-Life deathmatch
action, in the vein of maps like Crossfire, Doublecross, and Gasworks.
The map contains every weapon except for the Hive Hand-o-lag.

------TESTING INFORMATION--------------------------------------------
This is the first beta of this map that I am putting up for testing.
I would like to hear any and all comments on this map, but I'm
specifically interested in your thoughts on the following elements
of the map: (I stole this question list format from QS because I thought
it was a good idea, so props to him. Hope you don't mind!)

1. Did you have fun playing the map?
2. Was the connectivity good?
3. Was the weapon/item/ammo placement good?
4. Did you think there was too much/too little health or shields?
5. Did you find any specific weapon was too powerful?
6. Did you find that any area of the map was too easy to control or
    camp out in?
7. How many players do you think this map would accommodate?
8. What did you think of the poison gas trap? Did you like/dislike it?
Did you think it was too weak/powerful? Was it easy to figure out how
to avoid being killed by it? Did you have fun fighting it out on
    the roof?
9. Were the r_speeds to high for you to deal with? (see notes below)
Any suggestions on how I could get r_speeds lower?
10. Did you snag on anything you shouldn't have (am I missing any clip
    brushes)?
11. Any ideas why the gas sprites look messed up (at least they do to me)?
12. Was the layout good?
13. Was the architecture good?
14. Was the lighting good?
15. Was it easy to find your way around and to figure out where you were?
16. Was the texturing good? Any misalignments?
17. Any other comments?

------Additional Info, Tips, and Notes-------------------------------
Inside the tower on top of the map's central building is a button.
When this button is pressed an alarm will sound, and players have 30
seconds to reach the roof of the central building. At that time
poisonous gas is released throughout the map, and only those players
on the roof of the central building will survive.
You cannot get on to the roof of any building except for the central
building, so don't try it :)

A NOTE ON R_SPEEDS...
If there's one problem with this map, I think it's the r_speeds.
As I said, this is my first map, so when I first started I had no
idea that the design I came up with would cause the r_speeds to be
a bit high. They're pretty reasonable indoors, I think, but in some
places outside they can get up to around 800 or sometimes 900. I
realize that this is just unacceptable for some people, but I've tried
and tried to get them down and I can't seem to get them any lower
without doing some major changes to the way the map is laid out.
If you experience major slowdowns with this map, please let me know,
and also note what type of hardware you're running. Also, if you have
any suggestions on how I might be able to lower r_speeds more, PLEASE
let me know!
