Desc (A lot of stuff that'll only be of interest to make another): I saw on PrefabLand's Most Wanted a request for a prefab using a func_push to launch a grenade dropped into one side out the other, preferrably for TFC. Let me first of all say that I have only tested this in TFC, but removed the TFC entities for the release. Anyway, I liked the idea of a large grenade launcher, and didn't think it'd be too hard to create. I was half-right, finding out how to propel the explosives was the hard part, the actual launcher itself has been overcomplicated somewhat so that it looks more "complete". The basic structure is a very fast conveyor which the grenade or pipebomb or whatever is dropped onto, then it is carried along at a speed of roughly 3,000 units per second, until it hits a normal non-entity ramp, which sends it flying.
In my prefab, The main conveyor "trench" is covered over to limit getting "sucked into it", and to keep the grenade(s) from bouncing out over the sides when they're first tossed in. The ramp is designed as a rock-like object, and has open sides near the "exit" which serves 2 purposes. First if you're fast you can actually see the grenade go flying by through the air inside the launcher, and secondly it provides another method of putting grenades in. Also you'll notice in the test map that the grenades are tossed somewhat downwards (And then usually bounce off the far wall and come back towards the launcher), this is caused by the horizontal plate at the top where the grenade comes out. Since my map had a fairly low ceiling it just bounced down anyway, so this gave some method of controlling it.
If you want to shoot the grenade very far, I'd like to recommend a couple things. First if your map has a high ceiling to it, get rid of or something the top plate explained in the last sentances of the last paragraph. Second of course, is to increase the conveyor speed, and perhaps even the length of the conveyor.
Anyway, as I said, it's actually over-complicated slightly, for a good idea of how it works, just look at the side view in World Craft.
And as a last note, Carefula round the end of the conveyor! That thing I know for a fact will easily toss you high into the air in a moment...
