* Description *

Its a bird! Its a plane! Its a Helicopter! No it's all the above! The Bell / Boeing Vertol MV-22 Opsrey is the United States Marine Corps newest vertial envelopment transport in its over the horizon amphibious assult mission. Designed to replace the Boeing Vertol CH-46 Sea Knight, the Osprey has the speed and range of an airplane, and the manueverablity and versatility of a helicopter. On a side note it has also been spotted in the game Half-life when you first reach the surface and those rappling Marines jump out of the side doors. I did some research on this and there are not big side doors on the Opsrey because of the oversized sponsons block the fuselage.

Featuring fully rotational 3 blade propellors (yes they really are that big), two piece opening rear loading ramp operated via a button in the cargo hold, and a fairly low face count for something this big. I used the same texturing as my Huey prefab cause some people liked it (so I try to stay consistent), but re-texture if you like. Still can't find a decent camoflague texture! There is a light in the cargo bay so remove or adjust if you want and an ambient_generic above each rotor with an apache sound. Remove the landing gear if you want to just hover and the rear loading ramp door if you plan to attach a rope to the rear exit otherwise the ramp might get in your way but since its a split two piece I think it should be fine. The hollowed out cockpit had to be sacrificed in the name of face count too.

Note: You're probably thinking "Not another damn helicopter". Well this prefab is the most requested I've seen to date (next to driveable vehicles) so I thought I would give it a try. Compared the the Valve version this one is more to scale and useable. The Valve version has those marines rappling from the side doors off ropes attached to the wings but since mine is more toward the realism factor you'll have to have then come out of the rear door or the side cockpit doors. I'm suprised I got it under 500 faces! (I was expecting at least 700).
