                            The Kryllidian Krusade

                                   by Kruel

The Kryllidians are ant-like creatures that live in the Kapalar system.
They didn't seem much of a threat, but they striked quite suddenly and
unexpectedly. They took over 7 of PTMC's mines. 3 of them have been cleared
already, but the last of the 4 Exterminators PTMC sent out, was captured
recently. Your job is to raid the 4 remaining mines and rescue, if possible,
the surviving employees of PTMC, and the Exterminators that have been captured.
Then you are to destroy the whole mine so that every single Kryllidian and
robot that they have corrupted will be destroyed as well.

This is a level set made especially for Single player and Co-op. However,
it's still possible to play it in Anarchy, Flag, etc.

Editors used: Devil, DMB2, DTX2, PmView, PolyTron, HxmEdit, both the Dos and
Win95 versions of Haxmedit, BriefEd, and WinBlows paint.

Some features: A new player ship, lots of new robots as well as 2 new bosses.
Modified Lasers, Fusion cannon, and Plasma. A briefing. 4 levels plus one
secret level. And as always, the lighting and architecture are spectacular.

Note: You will need Descent2 version 1.2 to play this mission the way it's
supposed to be played.

Level 1: Aquarius Asteroid Base
-------------------------------
There's some lava in here, and a boss robot. Stock up on the vulcan ammo,
cuz it's much more effective against the boss than lasers. To rescue the
hostages, you must guide a missle and hit a switch. Same goes for getting
the afterburner. You must also find switches to access both the blue and
red keys. The exit is kinda far, but you'll have enough time.

Level 2: Web Works Power Plant
------------------------------
There aren't very many robots in this level....untill you activate the robot
generators. And there are lots of em too. Watch out for cloaked mines.

Level 3: Fervid Falls
---------------------
Some of the robots in here are really aggressive and the Fusion weilding boss
robot is like kiln on steroids. Don't bother wasting your missles and vulcan
ammo on the boss. Only energy weapons will harm it, and if you find a cloaking
device, save it for when your ready to confront him. Be sure to find the
shortest route to the exit, or you'll be sorry.

Level 4: Vanadium Volatile Mine
-------------------------------
Although this level doesn't have a boss robot, it is still the biggest and
most challenging. You'll find many of the Kryllidians piloting the dangerous
'Shard'. The reactor is in a volcano. When you destroy the reactor, meltdown
is immediate. The explosion should be powerfull enough to blow open the
volcano, so exit thru the top.

Some notes.... I started on this level set half a year ago, cuz Nihilist,
Nevering, and a couple other friends had been bugging me to make a multi-level
single player mission. I figured I'd give it a try. So I made 4 levels. I
ended up trashing levels 3 and 4 cuz I just wasn't satisfied with them. Then
I put off working on this for a few months. When I found PolyTron, I started
making some pretty cool looking robots, and I thought....what good are all
these robots if I have no place to put em? So I started construction on these
levels once again and here it is, finally, my first stab at a single player
mission. I hope ya like it.

Thanx.....
Nihilist, for getting me to make this level set in the first place...And all
my beta testers: Mcalpine, Nevering, Platter, Nirvana, SBV, Heiko and the rest
of those guys at the Descent Network....
And above all, I thank God for all the great things that I have.
