Real Combat
-----------
Real Combat is an conversion for C&C Red Alert, it will make C&C RA
realistic, with real existing weapons. Some units will stay in C&C RA,
because they really exist, others are real existing weapons from C&C and
others are really new. This is how a real war would look like between the
Allies and Soviets. The weapons of all units will also be modified, giving
them larger range and making them more powerfull (for instance one Hellfire
anti tank missile from the Apache will kill a Soviet T80U tank, just as in
reality). Tanks will also be aquipped wth machineguns. Tank cannons and
machineguns can fire at aircraft however tank guns are to slow to shoot down
planes. Machineguns will do less damage to armor. Units will show original
names.

This alpha version does not yet has the weapon range and damage increased.

Usage
-----
Just place all the files from the .ZIP file in your C&C RA directory. Then
start C&CRARC.BAT, you will get a menu with 6 options: 1 Instal real Combat, 
2 uninstall real combat, 3 start C&C RA, 4 start C&C RA win95 version (however 
this alfa version does not have any win95 icons), 5 view the readme file and 
6 exit. Just install Real Combat and start C&C RA.



Requirements
------------
You will need Command & Conquer Red Alert and the second official add on 
The Aftermath, because the new units are replaced too. If
you do not have this add-ons, you are not a real C&C-fan and you will
probably also don't need Real Combat. If you don't have both add-ons them you can 
buy C&C RA Mission Tesla, this is Counterstrike and The Aftermath together. To

Story
-----
Russia became poor and weak of comunisme, the calapse of the Soviet union and food
shortage. The Russian government sees that its only chance of remaining a super 
power is to re-unite the Soviet Union. The Russian military is still a large 
powerfull force, but most weapons are in poor condition so the Russians start to 
update and repair their weapons. Because they are updating their weapons there is 
much less money for feeding the population. The Russian Government thinks the West 
will give them food if they tell them there is not enough money. The West beleives 
this and gives food to the Russians, the West doesn't notices the update of the 
Russian weaponry. There is little resistance when the Russians conquer the first few 
East-European countries, more East-European countries fall. The West doesn't 
interfeares ecause they are afraid of a 3rd World War, they tell the Russians that if 
they will not retreat measueres will be taken. The West creates sanctions which forbids 
Western countries to trade with Russia. Soon all East European countries have fallen. 
The Russian government thinks: "why stop now if we can have it all?" and launches an 
attack at Western Europe, although most West-European weapons are superior to the 
Soviet weapons, they and the few US troops stationed in Europe are outnumberred by 
the enormous Russian military, the Russians are moving more and more to the West. The 
USA responds and sends out a huge force to help the West-Europeans. US troops and 
weapons are moved to Europe. Unlike Operation Desert Storm they will not face an 
inferior opponent, but a powerfull, well trained and modern opponent with lots of 
weapons, this will be Real Combat...


Groups
------
The groups are the Allies (NATO) and the Soviets, all the Allied weapons are
weapons from the USA (because these are the best). Both sides will have infantry, 
light units, armored vehicles, artillery, helicopters, anti aircraft weapons, planes 
and ships.
The Allies will have powerfull expencive weapons, and the Soviets will have
cheaper weapons, however the Soviet SS25 Sicle nuclear ICBM launcher will be a very
powerfull Soviet weapon.

Units
-----
A lot of units will be replaced, some units could only replace a specific unit
because it has special possibility's like transport or a turret. The units
are listed below, the real names are shown.

C&C RA RC contains new graphics and some sounds taken from C&C for the new units.
(Some units have new or updated graphics, others use C&C RA graphics or C&C graphics)

The units marked with NA are not available in this alfa version (they aren't
made yet). Some units might be modified in later versions.
The guard tower was removed because it doesn't had any shadows yet, I'm goin to fix
that soon.

In later versions I will give a complete description of the units.
Some weapons of the original units might be changed, because of weapon changes.
The Red Alert units that are not replaced yet are still buildable, in the final version 
only the real existing units will remain.

Thanks to Chris Mahlant (Chris R2P) for creating the frames of the E8 JSTARS airstrip GPS center. He couldn't work on Real Combat anymore because he's to buzzy with school.

  build-up frames aren't yet created.


Dos and Win icons
-----------------
I have made icons for both the DOS version and Win95 version, because everybody can play 
the DOS version. The Win95 version does not work on all systems because of video card drivers
or low systems, so people with lower systems or other problems why C&C RA 95 would not work 
can also play Real Combat. The Win95 icons are real photographs of the units. The finished 
version will might contain new music tracks too.
(but mayby the music tracks will be downloaded seperately to keep Real Combat as small as possible).

Missions
--------
I am planning to create missions for C&C RA RC as soon as I have finished it.
Tt will be a USA VS Russia campaign
If you know if any devensive structures are used in reality (like
pillboxes, gun turrets, etc.) please e-mail me.
I'm also having trouble creating desert maps, I tried making a desert with
bridge pieces, but then it is not buildable. If you know another way to
make a desert scenario please e-mail me.
Also e-mail me if you know where I can find a VQA program, to convert movies
to VQA or create/edit VQA movies.

C&C RA RC alpha 0.1  : very first RC (was not available on the internet).
C&C RA RC alpha 0.2  : added some more units (was not available on the internet).
C&C RA RC alpha 0.3  : added/updated some more units, sounds, .bat file install/uninstall.
C&C RA RC alpha 0.4  : Longbow radar added to Apache, fixed unit name problems I had.
C&C RA RC alpha 0.5  : Added M109 Palladin, and icons for the Win95 version.
C&C RA RC alpha 0.6  : Added Russian Sovremennyy-class missile destroyer, replaced the T72 and
                       MiG23 Flogger by T80U and MiG29 Fulcrum, added some sound FX's from C&C,
                       Removed intro .VQA (TANKGO from C&C) because it didn't worked under the 
                       Win95 version and it made RC quite big to download. The Kilo-class 
                       submarine's graphics were actually the Akula-class (original RA sub)
                       in previous RC versions, I updated the graphics so it's a real Kilo class
                       now.
C&C RA RC alpha 0.61 : Added 2S19 MSTA-S self-propelled 152mm howitzer and 2S6M Tunguska air 
                       defense missile vehicle. Replaced BMP2 by BMP3. Edited the cannon of the 
                       M2A2 Bradley and M6 Bradley Linebacker
C&C RA RC alpha 0.62 : Many rules things fixed, better balance and realisme (released: 19 august 1999)
