Feeback: Please let me know what you think!
Planet: Venus
Size: Xlarge (5120x5120)
Players: 6
Type: Strategy
Scrap Count: 660 (380 on map + 280 in 14 special gun towers)
Geysers: 59

v1.07 changes:
-more scrap issues:
after play testing with 6 peolpe, the decision was made to sacrafice the
Alien structures that had recycleable wind power units, ammo and supply
power ups inside them in favor of increasing scrap count. Apparently
there is a 460 unit limit in the .bzn. A map trying to support 6 bases
needs lots of scrap! I also wanted to keep the large geyser count so
bases could be relocated mid battle. Once the geysers were put in and
the spawn points and base scrap.. there wasn't much left. So for the
last 15 units in the bzn I added special gun towers that have increased
scrap count of 20 each. This boosted the scrap count from what would
have been a max of 395 to a potential of 660. Each base has 30 local,
then there are 4 scrap fields basically at 130, 430, 730 and 1030 (o'clock).
The remaining 8 fields are placed in scrap poor areas. The gun towers
are spilt into three groups. Four at 12 and 6 o'clock, and 6 in the
center.

The other changes include populating the corner bases with 6 geysers each,
removing the flying Fury units, fixed all edges so you can't fall off.

v1.05 changes:
-more on scrap:
repositioned the gun towers a little, more spread out in scrap yard areas.
Increased the health on the towers to be just outside the starting units
ability to kill if stock. I figure by the time you get an upgrade to kill
the tower, you will have processed enoungh scrap to create 'room' for extra
created by the exploding tower.

v1.04 changes:
-fixed the scrap issue:
removed all the scrap and started over. Put 30 at each of the 6 bases
and 10 at the two secret spawn points (in swirls). Then added four
"scrap yards"... that is 5 modified gun towers that have 20 scrap value
each. They are located equadistant between the 6 spawn points. Their
combined scrap potential is 400! That brings the map up to 580. That
doesn't include the hidden wind-power units scattered throughout the
map.

-fixed the host fury units:
I didnt realize it, but the 2 popup furies actually fight for the host.
Poor MowerMan. He was running for home base, while I persued... then
all of a sudden a WASP passes over my shoulder and takes him out. These
units are empty now. You can scrap them... or laugh when people kill
themselves trying to enter them.

-known issues:
the map is at it's scrap limit (or so it thinks) on launch. If you destroy
any of those gun towers (20 scrap value!) before you remove some scrap off
the map (via scavs) it will likely crash. I play tested with two players,
and it wasn't a problem.

there is reportably an area near an edge where you fall off and can't get back.
I haven't heard specifically where, so I cant fix yet. Be careful near the
edges. Most likely your trying to sneak around the edge of detection and deserve
to get stuck :)

Install:
If you have previous version, write over the oldfiles. There is only one new file that
wasn't in the original release. Be sure to update you netmis.txt with the .mad file.
I'm including the ver number in the .mad and the .des for easy access.

Recomendations:
I would think a constructor is one of the first things to make. Your base
scrap is pretty safe, so go for the long distance stuff. If you assume all
are doing the same, you might want to build an attack force and meet them
at the scrap yards. They have scavs and constructor, you got 5 fighters!

This reallyis meant to be a 3 vs 3 team strat map, East vs West. If you play
it this way, let me knopw how it goes!

Thanks.

Description:

This map terrain was based off an elevation map {CRF}Icarus sent me.
I built the terrain in a 3D package by tracing out the different
elevations and rendering a height map. Since I think it's better to
have no distinct terrain advantages for Strategy play, the lower half
of the map is a reverse and flip of the top. Because of the size, I
used bmp2hgt instead of TerraZone for creating the .hgt file.

The map is set up for 6 players. 4 in the corners and one due East and
due West. There are actually 2 more spawn points in the center of the
map for 8 person play, but they would be at a distinct disadvantage
as they would be a central target for all and they only have 2 immediate
geysers. I left them in though, so if people wanted to, they could
try the 8 player version. I'm hoping spawn points go in order, other
wise if spawn points 5 and 6 get pulled in before 1-4 are full, might
make for unbalanced games. If that is the case, it should be played
as a 4 person map unless you actually have 6 players. Will try and
test before this official release, but it's really difficult to get
that many people together to test a map!

There are a few surprises on this map, including many Alien buildings!
Take some time, look around... explore. The host of the game generiously
donates 2 utility vehicles (scavs) to vehicle-poor pilots that find
themselves far from home. These should be smoking and respawns, but
alas, the constraints of BZ strick again!
