Description:

INCOMING TRANSMISSION:
From: General Collins
To: Field-Commander 'Player'

Commander, you did a good job on the moon. I know that you had mission objectives to complete on Achilles, but something more important has come up. Intel has just discovered the origin of the bio-moon, and it's a fascinating story.
It seems that the people who built the bio-moon are from the future. Apparently, they're called Ro'chukns and were attacked in the future by some large synthetic organisms. These organisms almost wiped out all of the peaceful Ro'chukns. The Ro'chukns killed one of the organisms and looked inside it's mechanical mind. It had, in the past, fought against us. Apparently, we and the Soviets had discovered this alien relic, and made these incredible war machines called 'Furies' to combat each other with. These Furies were sentient though, and wiped out the CCA. The NSDF managed to destroy them, taking Achilles with them. Anyway, the Ro'chukns constructed a time-machine, the bio-moon, and traveled back to before human civilisation to remove the Fury relics, so that we would never find them and they wouldn't destroy the Ro'chukns. We're not entirely sure about why the bio-moon is still here. All I know is the CCA have landed a science team on the bio-moon and have downloaded information about the time-machine. They've taken it to Achilles.
Commander, if they can utilize that information, they could wipe out the NSDF before we even landed on the moon in '69.
We had a Black Dog base in your area, charged with destroying the CCA forces and the information, but it's been under heavy attack. We need you to get that base back on-line. Scrap is low, and the CCA appear to have claimed a massive scrap field near their base. However you should have enough once you have repelled the attacks.
Also, the CCA have a nuclear weapon ready on the other side of Achilles. Intel believes they're after destroying the bio-moon and stopping us from ever getting the information it can give us. We have another team trying to stop that. However should the bio-moon explode, it will take Achilles with it, and send fresh bio-metal across the solar-system.

ENGINEERING REPORT

We've given you a scout tank so that you may proceed as fast as possible to help out the Black Dogs. We've also supplied you with three nav beacons. These will show you the only way to the Black Dog base. You have a Recycler and an Armory, both of standard NSDF design, with you at the launch pad. Guide them through the nav beacons only after the Black Dogs are safe. The Black Dogs have lost their Recycler and Armory, but their UNit Factory still remains. You can use this and produce Black Dog vehicles, or Recycle it and produce standard NSDF vehicles.

CARTOGRAPHER'S REPORT

The terrain around here is very mountainous, except for the canyons. With your superior piloting skills you may be able to navigate the mountains, but your wingmen will not. Stick to the paths and canyons if possible.

WEATHER REPORT

A storm is brewing in the area. We already know of lightning and dark clouds. The whole area has a dull look. The storm will allow you to use Lightning power generators.
