This map is the "Battle-Arena".
It was made by [me] Howard Hsieh (McManus).
Build time was 5 hours on Sunday March 15, 1998.



To play it (in multiplayer only), put
all the files in your \addon subdirectory:

Do NOT under any circumstances
change the name of ANY of the 
files!!!  They will not work
and will most likely cause the
game to crash.

Then (THIS IS THE CRUCIAL STEP!!!) add the 
following line to the end of the "netmis.txt"
file found in the root directory (make it match everything else).

Battlezone\netmis.txt:
multdm40.bzn    multdm40.des    4 8     netveh.txt D Battle-Arena

Do NOT change any of it, and don't add any blank
lines between it and the ones before it
(although you can add spaces to make it match 
 the rest of your netmis.txt) !!!



GENERAL NOTES:
This is a small map intended for pure deathmatching
only.  I realize that many (not all!) corners are very
sharp and unsmooth, but it's like that for a reason.  Also,
I didn't mess with the textures at all, so the map looks
rather bland, but it is intended for pure deathmatching
only (although I tried changing some textures, it looked 
really bad).  Its purpose is not to please the eye, but
to be a really small and easy-to-understand map for NON-STOP 
deathmatching.  Because it is meant for NON-STOP
deathmatching, all of the weapon powerups generate
within 5 seconds, and all of the ammo and repair powerups
generate within 1 or 5 seconds (except the repair powerup
in the center of the map).

The map/gameplay goes works like this (TACTICS ON THIS MAP):
There is an extremely tall outer wall (that you can't get
over), an inner smaller wall filled with ammo and repairs,
and a center arena filled with weapons and a small mound 
in the center with ammo and 1 repair (the longest-spawning one).
It's obvious that most of the fighting will be done in the
arena, but after you're done (preferably in a cease-fire),
you're SUPPOSED to (ya don't have to!) go and get some health
and ammo when you're done.  The mound in the middle is there
IN CASE you run out of ammo in the middle of a fire-fight,
and the repair is to give SOMEONE an advantage (it doesn't
respawn as quick as the other items).  I made all the ammo
respawn rather quick because I DON'T want people to run
out of ammo in a fire-fight.  That's the ENTIRE PURPOSE of
this map!  Big CONTINUOUS fire-fights in the middle with 
an outside ring to cool off in (no weapons there!).  Well,
just use common sense and good tactics and PLEASE don't go
around  killing/sniping  people  in/from  the cool-off zone!!!
