 Battlezone II Demo Patch
==============================

The patch and this readme was compiled by Ghostfire on September
27, 1999. This patch and its fixes is not endorsed or supported
by Pandemic Studios or Activision. If the fixes don't work, try
section IV. If they do, try section III.

 I.	What is it?
==============================
Okay, there are four known "fixes" and "tweaks" for the Battlezone
II Demo that are generally accepted and are used in some form or
another. These four things would be:

- ISUSER.ODF
	This is the Object Definition File for you, the pilot.
	As was quickly discovered when we first played the demo,
	the mouse sensitivity for the pilot was set way too high.
	This fixes the error that accidently slipped through QA.

- BZINPUT_USER.CFG
	Many people posted on the Pandemic Studios Message Board
	complaining about the lack of support for the joystick.
	This file will add in joystick support.

- BZGAME_KEYS.CFG
	A few of us thought the demo was too short and we weren't
	about to let Pandemic Studios get away with that. So,
	Slight (the handle of a really cool guy) found out how to
	enable editor support in the demo. Yes, there is an editor
	in the demo.

- BZEDITOR_OBJECT.cfG
	The problem is, there are errors in the editor as well.
	One particularly annoying one was if you selected the weapons
	section under OBJECTS, garbled text would appear. This fixes
	that error.

 II.	How do I use it?
==============================
Unzip the four files into your addon directory. The standard path
is "C:\Program Files\Activision\Battlezone II (TM) Demo\addon\" though
you may have chosen a different one during your installation.

Please note that unzipping these files will remap the user-defined
keys to the default. You can change them to your personal preferences
after the installation of the patch.

To activate the editor, press Ctrl and E at the same time. This will
put you into editor mode. You can move your mouse toward the edges of
the screen to move the camera. You can also place units onto the map.
Please note that the editor was NOT supported by Activision or Pandemic
Studios. Many of the items are not available because Pandemic Studios
stripped away many of the assets in order to produce a smaller file to
download. Don't go complaining to them. However, if you are looking
for help in making a map or want to keep up with the latest Battlezone
II editing news, go to Slight's General Battlezone II Editing
Discussion Board. The links is available at the bottom of this file.

 III.	It's working!
==============================
Congratulations! Now you can make Battlezone II maps, kind of, and
you can get through a good portion of the mission on foot without
having your screen show your 360 degrees of your location! We're
proud of you. Make sure to flood Ghostfire's mailbox with glowing
letters of appreciation.

==============================
 IV.	It's not working!
==============================
Well, make sure that ALL of your drivers are up to date. Sure, you
updated your drivers last month. Guess what? New ones are out today.
Go run and get some. Check off your video card and your sound card.
Last, but not least, make sure you have DirectX 6 or above. In fact,
as of this writing, Microsoft has released DirectX 7. So, fire up
that modem and start downloading. Besides, it'll do you some good
because your drivers will be up to date for the next demo or game that
you may chance upon. If that does not work, you may want to try
the Technical section of the Battlezone II demo boards. Links are
available at the bottom of this file.

==============================
 V.	Goodbye.
==============================
Links, links, links. That's what you want, right? Or do you actually
want me to start turning emotional on you? No, of course not. Just
remember that the Battlezone II multiplayer demo will be coming out
soon. This demo will have better tank handling, (hopefully) no bugs,
and a whole bunch of fun all tied into one. Keep your browser pointed
