             -( Devil's Covenant Frequently Asked Questions )-

Q: What is your currently planned release date for DC?

A: Summer. Possibly earlier than summer. I am speculating about releasing
the full version of DC at Quakecon '98, if I can talk them into it. ;)

Q: Will DC be compatible with GLQuake?

A: Earlier I had been saying no to this question. However, this has recently
changed. When the final version of DC is released the movie will be
compatible with GLQuake. I guarentee it.

Q: How big of a total file size can we expect for the finished version of DC?

A: Unknown at this point. Big. It is highly probable that the finished
version will be split up into multiple parts... i.e. the zip for part one
will contain everything necessary to run Scenes 1 to 3, Part two will continue
with 4 to 6... and so on. This will make the entire movie easier to download
for those with slower connects. As for the total amount of space DC will
occupy on your harddrive, expect upwards of 20 megs, easy.

Q: What is the projected running time for DC?

A: Comparable to any feature length film, most likely. The screenplay is
114 pages and there are 14 major scenes. A running time of over an hour is
not unlikely. Don't forget to take a piss before you start watching.

Q: Are the voice actors who did the lines for this promo professionals?

A: Not exactly. They certainly sound like it though, don't they? ;)
Everyone who did lines for the Promo did a STELLAR job. Bill Benners (Sith),
Jerry the Cow (Sgt. Colt), Brian Carter (Prof. Ceylon), Aaron Gwen (Corp.
Hawker) and Curve (Capt. Kell) all deserve to be commended for their kick
ass renditions.

Q: Anyone else of note doing voice work for DC?

A: Yes, actually. We have C.S. Pariah doing a character (he did the voice
of Steel in the unreleased epic RGB3), Ivy and Jack from Clan PMS doing an
awesome job in the roles of our two female leads, not to mention fellow P's
Countfragula, Jinx, Quartz, and myself.

Q: Sith sounded like he was straight from Hell! Is that Bill Benners' normal
voice?

A: Bill used his technical wizardry and sound hardware to enhance his voice
for the part of Sith. The audition that he sent me had the effects included,
and the first time I heard it I was blown away. I thought "This IS Sith."

Q: Why does the bolt from the Plasma rifle look so good in normal Quake and
like a flattened blue beach ball in GL?

A: The reason that the DC progs.dat and footage did not originally work with
GL is because the QC package I put together to film it included a new .spr
to represent the Plasma rifle. This sprite caused a texture_mismatch in
GLQuake whenever it was run. So, in order to circumvent the problem, the
GL Version of this promo uses an .mdl file to represent the Plasma bolts
instead of the better looking sprite. Basically this is a piece of bleep I
wupped together in 2 minutes to make the footage work with GL (this is also
why there are two versions of the Scene 1 demo included in the .pak). It
is highly likely that the finished version of DC GL will have a better looking
Plasma .mdl (if anyone out there wants to send me one, you can get your name
in the credits if we use it ;)

Q: Who the hell is Hard wOOd >DV8?

A: A kick ass CTF player.

Q: Can I still get involved? I want to do a voice part or act in DC!!!

A: Most of our major voice parts are filled, all but one. A grizzled
General. If you think you can do justice to the part, by all means, send
me an audition. As for actors roles, hell yes. If you want to take some
time to come help us finish the remaining footage, get in touch with me and
I'll set you up. The benefits of acting in DC is that you get a hands-on
preview of the scenes as they are filmed, and, of course, your name in the
credits. Contact me at ebakutis@mail.utexas.edu

Q: Are these actual questions you were asked or are you just making these up?

A: Some of these questions are ones I commonly get asked on IRC and servers.
Others I put in there to amuse myself. :)

StarFury of Clan Phantasm, out.
