---INTRODUCTION

This archive contains a series of configuration files which you can use
with BotJohnny to enable support for the A.C.E. bot.

Please read this Readme file before use.

The version number of these files corresponds to the version number of
BotJohnny required to use them plus a letter marking any subsequent
revisions.

---INSTALLATION

You should have BotJohnny installed and running Eraser before you install
these files. It should go without saying that you will need A.C.E.
installed before you should bother with this.

Unfortunately, the way to spawn random bots is very silly and will continue
to be silly until BotJohnny version 1.3. See below for more info.

(Not that I have anything against A.C.E. as it's just in a very early
state of release. I am always impressed with anyone who can do this
sort of thing, I never could..)

1. Load BotJohnny

2. At the bottom of the screen, next to the profile name, click "Add"

3. Type in "A.C.E. Deathmatch" for the name of the profile and click OK.
(It doesn't matter what you select from the list below as the settings
get overwritten with this archive anyway)

4. In your BotJohnny folder you will now have a new sub-folder called
    "A.C.E. Deathmatch"

5. Unzip this archive into that folder, making sure all files are replaced.

6. If you quit BotJohnny, load it up again

7. Choose "A.C.E. Deathmatch" from the profiles list at the bottom.

8. Go to the MAPS tab and check the start map is the one you want.

9. Go to the JOHNNY tab and change the Quake2 folder and Location
of Maps folder to your ones.

10. Use as normal.

---CREATING ADDITIONAL A.C.E. PROFILES

There is very little point doing this at the moment as A.C.E. can ONLY do
simple Deathmatch. Of course, you can set some up if you want to take
advantage of having multiple map lists.

---IMPORTANT NOTES

You should bear in mind the following before using this:

x When the program says the word "Eraser", mentally substitute it with
   the word "A.C.E.". ;-)

x Deathmatch Teamplay does not work at all.

---CURRENT ISSUES WITH THIS RELEASE

Erm.. where to start?

x No deathmatch teamplay options work
x Client Latency and "Max No. of Bots" have no effect
x Random bot spawning is weird (see note in a moment)
x Viewable weapons list doesn't work
x First skill level in list should not be selected
x "Auto adjust skill" does nothing
x Etc. etc...

---HOW TO SPAWN BOTS

Spawning specific bots in Deathmatch works as you would expect it.
As does choosing red and blue CTF teams for the bots to join.

Deathmatch Teamplay is not incorporated yet.

The problem lies with spawning random CTF or Deathmatch bots. With
BotJohnny v1.2 you cannot just spawn random bots. In either case you
should do the following:

1. Go to the BOTS tab

2. "Spawn Specific Bots" *must* be switched ON

3. Double click as many bots in the list as you like. (It doesn't matter
which bots you click as it won't take any notice of the details)

4. Turn "Spawn Random Bots" back ON. (For either CTF or Deathmatch)

5. Save (if you want)

6. Launch.

When you launch it will spawn the number of bots that you have clicked. They will
not use any of the attributes (even name..) of the bots you have chosen.

(This handy feature has already been changed, but requires BotJohnny v1.3 which
has yet to be released.)

---VERSION HISTORY
