	DESCRIPTION
	~~~~~~~~~~~
		Your minions stand on the chessboard, tight, anxious,
	waiting to battle the enemies across from them.
		Welcome to the Tournament of Minions. The winners
	earn glory and power. The losers are eliminated. Removed
	from this world. Completely.
		This single player Quake game starts at a chessboard,
	where your minions face the enemy. You start out in limbo, so
	you must choose a physical form. Touch one of your servants
	and you will become him.
		Next you must choose a foe. Each monster in Minion has
	three attacks, plus strengths, weaknesses, abilities and
	immunities. You must choose wisely. With his fast, long-range
	weapons, a snakeman may be able to take out a spider. Maybe.
		This is for you to discover.
		After you touch an enemy, you will teleport to the
	battle area. Here you will deathmatch with your foe. You can
	pick up health and magic ammo. But he will be hunting you,
	perhaps even waiting in shadows to pounce on you.
		You will be transported back to the chessboard after
	one of you dies. If you won, your enemy will be removed from
	the board. If you lost, your piece will be removed. You will
	again be in limbo. You must select another minion.
		Now its the computer's turn. He will move on of his
	monsters against one of yours. Like before, you will morph
	into the piece he chose, and you both will be teleported
	to the deathmatch area.
		Instead of starting a fight, the computer, and you as
	well, may choose to cast a spell. You need magic points (which
	show up as armor in the status bar) for this. To earn magic,
	you must either win a fight or occupy one or more orbs at the
	corners of the boards.
		With spells you can banish an enemy piece, create a
	new piece, and more. This will help you if you are losing
	minions in battle, or if you can't seem to beat a certain
	enemy.
		Of course, he knows this. And he will use this. The
	computer will try to conquer the orbs and use spells against
	you.
		The end of the Tournament, however, will always be
	the same: either you or your enemies will run out of minion
	pieces. This is a bad thing.
		This is defeat.
		This is not an option.
		Deathmatch 1		Normal game
		Deathmatch 3		Random piece game
		Skill 0 - 4		multiple difficulty levels
	MULTIPLE SKILL LEVELS
	~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

		The Minion mobots, or monster bots, may be too hard
	for some people and too easy for others. I *strongly* urge
	everyone to check out each of the skill levels. You can do
	this by bringing down the Quake console, typing "skill 3"
	if you want level three, and restart.
		The mobots will act different for each level, including
	zero. They will move faster and avoid you more the higher you
	select. In addition, you'll get more health at skill zero,
	while your enemies will do more damage at skill four.
		Also, the console variable "temp1" selects the number
	of mobots you battle each fight, from one to three. For instance,
	type "temp1 2" and restart. Now when you touch an enemy piece,
	two mobots will be spawned to fight you.
		I hope you find a customization to suit your taste.

	STORYLINE
	~~~~~~~~~
		You have dared to enter the Tournament of the Minions
	of Quake. Shub-Niggarath would be proud.
		Once the general for Shub, Y'neth Lei has taken command
	and is rebuilding the dark army. This time, however, not every
	demon from hell will be accepted. The first force lost to a
	single human marine. The next war will be different.
		You may end up among the chosen.
		Or you may end up dead.
		With her typical ruthlessness, Y'neth has decided that
	hell's minions can battle each other for placement. And with
	her usual dramatic flair, she has chosen a human chessboard
	as the location of the competition.
		If you lose, you will suffer in purgatory for eternity.
	If you win, you shall earn a place among the honored demon
	soldiers in Y'neth's new army of darkness.
		The marines will run in fear of your very presence.
	THANKS AND CREDITS
	~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

		I really want to thank RedDeath (Louis) for being there
	in the beginning and the end, and Defiant (Stuart) for demanding
	quality in games. These guys know what's good, and what isn't.
		Also, I want to thank Vengeance, Ishkish, Seculath,
	Shambler, Capt. Kill, Nakedman, Flood Anxiety, Sockman,
	Dark_Skye, and everyone on ICQ.
		I thank everyone who waited for this damn game so long,
	and for people who visited my site when I didn't always update.
	You know who you are. Thanks.
		The morph code, which I base all Minion games on, is
	not even mine. It's Jeff Epler's. He's a great programmer.
	And the Quake community is an incredible world.
		I did create some of the weapons, like the Rollerball
	and Hellstorm. But I also shoplifted the small models for the
	Buzzcut, the throwing axes, and the anti-gravity beam.

	COPYRIGHTS
	~~~~~~~~~~
		This is Minion v 1.0.
		Though I have used public code and models from the
	Internet I have copyrighted my code. It's not really hard
	to do, you know. But it is hard to beat.
		You'll mess up your hard drive if you mess with this
	stuff. But if you ask, we can talk source code.
	COMMENTS AND CRITICISMS
	~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

		The Quake community loves to be disappointed.
		It's a fact. We were disappointed with Quake. With Quake
	2. With this mod and that mod. I'm sure there will be somebody
	disappointed with Minion.
		Truth is, it was started a long time ago, and it changed
	a lot. Many people I think wanted to see the headball aspect
	as much as the chess part. I am writing a headball game called
	MinionBall, so if this doesn't suit your fancy, check out
	the next one.
		This Minion is the one I really wanted to make.	I think
	it turned out well. There isn't anything quite like it for
	the single player.
		I realize, however, that it's not as fun as it should be.
	If you don't look for the strategy, if you don't use the spells,
	Minion can be a little dry. I welcome all your ideas on how to
	make it more fun.

	COMING SOON
	~~~~~~~~~~~
		I am already working on my next games, and they should
	be even better than Minion. Of course there is MinionBall, a
	game like football played with a human head and teams of monsters.
		Also, I'm working on a deathmatch bot, a bot unlike any
	other. He lures you into traps. He snipes and teases you. He
	even feels emotion.
		In addition I'm developing a team bot deathmatch game
	similar to Capture the Flag. The last fun Quake mod I played
	was CTF Bots, and I think this new game could be as fun as that.
		Stay tuned.
