IDDA - id Demo Analyzer (Q1/Q2/QW) v0.99b1
By Fabian Huester, 1998-11-01

INSTALLATION:
-------------

Simply put all the files in one directory (idda.exe, idda.cfg and
makereg.exe necessary) and then start makereg.exe from that directory
(not from another location!) to create the file idda.reg and import
it into your registry, and you'll be able to open demos by doubleclicking
them (extensions .dem, .dm2 and .qwd are bound to IDDA).

DESCRIPTION:
------------

IDDA is a utility designed to analyze multiplayer-demos recorded with
Quake, Quake 2 and Quakeworld. It gives information as maps played /
kills / telefrags / selfkills / victims / deaths / efficiency /
kills by weapons / playtime / frags per minute etc. Output as text or
html.

IDDA _should_ work with Q1 up to v1.09, Q2 up to v3.20 and QW up to
v2.30. It can also be customized to work with mods.

I created the Quake 2 Demo Analyzer (Q2DA) back in february 1998 because
I couldn't find _any_ program which would analyze the Q2 demos (.dm2)
recorded when playing Q2 with friends. Half a year later, I was requested
to make versions for Quake 1 and Quakeworld, and so QDA and QWDA came to
life. All three programs are now unified in IDDA, the id Demo Analyzer.

SUPPORTED MODS:
---------------

- Q1/QW ClanRing
- QW Painkeep
- Q2 CTF by Zoid
- Q2 Lithium
- Q2 Rocket Arena 2
- Q2 mission pack #1 (The Reckoning)
- Q2 mission pack #2 (Ground Zero)

OPTIONS:
--------

/s Analyze each demo for itself if wildcards are used,
and write one file for each demo if used together
with /h or /t (with no specified filename)

/w Killchart for each weapon

/t[:<filename>] Write results to TEXT-file(s).

/h[:<filename>] Write results to HTML-file(s).

/a Open html after analyzing (if /h not used, creates iddatemp.htm
in Windows temp directory). Can be used for multiple demos.

/n Don't do a screen output of the results, only write to file(s).

/f Don't delete frag.log after demo analysis (if you're interested
		in it).

/c:<filename> Use custom config file (i. e. "/c:c:\tools\idda\lithium.cfg").
Default is idda.cfg in the same directory as idda.exe.
If you don't work in a Dos-Window, it could be necessary to
use this option (otherwise you might get an error message).

/l<x> Maximum length of player_shortnames = <x>, value must be
between 4 and 64, default is /l4. Has only an influence on
HTML-output. 64 chars is the maximum length of a name.

/o<x> Sort order of playerlist (only concerns HTML output),
with <x> the initial letter of one of the following:
		ratio, frags, name, shortname, clan.
Default is /or (sorted by ratio).

Concerning /h and /t:

If no filename is given, IDDA uses the default
filenames "IDDALOG.TXT" / "IDDALOG.HTM".

If no filename is specified and /s is used, IDDA writes one logfile per
demo, which then has the same name as the demo but a different extension
(TXT / HTM). Useful if you don't want to keep your demos but only the
results.

[try q2da *.dm2 /s /h /t /w /n to have all you need]

RATIO:
------

This is currently calculated as (FRAGS / VICTIM) and represents the
efficiency of a player.

FPM / DPM:
----------

FPM is "Frags Per Minute". To know if good players play
more cautiously.

DPM is the total number of Deaths Per Minute (includes selfkills,
kills by others and deaths (by lava etc.)). Prey-factor. :)

- suggested HTML-output a long time ago...

Glenn Fraser (mail: xkl78@dial.pipex.com, QW: [WH].FRAY)
- PainKeep support, finding bugs, lots of cool suggestions

Uwe Girlich (homepage: http://www.planetquake.com/demospecs/)
- His demo format descriptions were a big help

Lukasz Jozwinski (mail: stea@hipokrates.am.lublin.pl)
- ClanRing support, bug reports, constant moaning :)

Markus Schulte (mail: icho@uni-paderborn.de)
- For the almost daily suggestions ;-)

Andreas Schniedermeyer (mail: as@citd.owl.de)
- Don't know what for :)

Steve Smithies (mail: smithies@atlas.otago.ac.nz, homepage: ???)
