It is also a good idea to read the keygrip2.hlp file so you will

II. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS *IMPORTANT*
_____________________________________________
Please follow these directions exactly.
Do not just extract all the files into a directory and run.

1. Make a directory for the files, and extract the ZIP to it.
    (e.g. c:\games\quake2\keygrip2)

2. Keep
        KeyGrip2.exe
        KeyGrip2.dll
        *.txt
        *.hlp, *.cnt
    in that directory

3. Move the kg2demo.cfg file to your baseq2 directory
(e.g. c:\games\quake2\baseq2)

4. Move the example demos (*.dm2) to your \baseq2\demos directory

5. Move the sounds for the tutorial (*.wav) to your \baseq2\sound
directory (create it if it doesn't exist).

6. IF YOU HAVE WINDOWS 95
You MUST install both Winsock 2 AND the comctrl32 update.
If KeyGrip 2 is crashing on startup you probably did not do one of these things.
Even if you had Winsock 2 installed before (from the SDK, or other reason)
reinstall it! It is quick and painless.
WinSock 2: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/bin/W95ws2setup.exe
Comctrl32 Update (only needed if you don't have the latest IE4):
			ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/softlib/mslfiles/40comupd.exe

If one of the links is broken you can probably find the correct link on the
KeyGrip 2 page.

III. Starting and running KeyGrip 2
_____________________________________________

YOU MUST HAVE TCPIP INSTALLED AND CONFIGURED
ON YOUR SYSTEM. SEE TCPIP.TXT FOR MORE INFO.

1. For best performance, you may want to shut down other running
applications (Netscape, MSIE, and MS Outlook are huge memory
hogs). Also, if buttons start showing up without glyphs
(icons/pictures) on them, you are running out of resources. Try
quitting and restarting KeyGrip 2.

2. KeyGrip 2 is resolution independent, and should work fine as
low as 640x480. However, for best performance, at least 1024x768
is recommended. 16-bit (or higher) Color is required for proper
image display. Large fonts should work OK. If status bars are being
cut off, or things look out of place, try small fonts.

3. Run keygrip2.exe. If it crashes on startup, and your are in Windows 95
install Winsock 2 and comctrl32 update. See step 6 above.
If you already have Winsock 2, reinstall it.

4. You will need to configure the Quake 2 directory in the dialog
box. For a description of the many other options, see keygrip2.hlp (hit F1)

5. After you have done this, you should be left with the program
open, a bunch of grayed out icons (and some enabled) and a big
open workspace. I recommend resizing the main window so that it
covers the top half or so of your screen. Running maximized is not
recommended.

6. Open the help file, look around, DO THE TUTORIAL!

IV. Misc Important Info
_____________________________________________

If you are getting a GPF in your display driver, try getting an
updated driver. If that doesn't work, get DirectX5 drivers.

You should not run KeyGrip 2 fullscreen. If you run it half-screen,
you can put Quake 2 in the bottom left corner, and still have room
for the Block Tree and other dialogs on the bottom right corner of
the screen.

Currently KeyGrip 2 has a 32,500 block limit. Opening demos this
large would not be healthy for your system anyways (almost an
hour long).
