Converting the Heretic II Staff into a Sword
--------------------------------------------

The Heretic II staff has two parts: the staff itself, and the blade. The staff
is made up of 8 verteces forming a twisted, oblong box. The blade is made up
of 6 verteces forming a kind of crescent-shaped wedge.

The staff is made up of 12 triangles. The blade is made up of 8 triangles.

NOTE: THE FOLLOWING VERTEX INDECES ARE ZERO-BASED. THIS IS WHERE VERTECES
START IN THE TRIS.FM FILE, BUT NOTE THAT IN WAVEFRONT .OBJ AND SOME OTHER
FORMATS VERTECES START AT ONE.

Together, the parts of the staff use verteces 205 - 218 of the Corvus model.
The blade uses verteces 210, 211, 212, 214, 215, 217. The staff uses verteces
205, 206, 207, 208, 209, 213, 214, 218. (HMMM...THESE MAY BE OFF BY ONE,
RECHECK THEM).

The edge of the blade is formed by the following ridge of verteces: 214 (lowest),
215, 217, 212 (highest). In the "Partfly" frame, all of these points have the
same Y-coordinate (-0.1538) and their Z-coordinates increase - in other words,
in Partfly the blade is shown vertical, with the edge pointing parallel to the
X-axis.

The REFERENCES section of the Heretic II model keeps track of the locations of
specific verteces for use in effects generation (for example, where the ends
of the staff are at all times for flame trails, where the feet are for shadows).
See FlexModel.txt for more information.
