* Description *

Hell's Maw was my favorite Heretic I map. For good or bad I tried
to keep the look and feel of the original map.

Hell's Maw contained large open areas and many entities. Therefore...

Wpoly never gets above 450.
Epoly gets pretty high in and around the middle room.
(Epoly counts will improve after the barrels are exploded.) 

* Notes *

In Heretic I the designers were limited by the number of textures
they could use. By todays standards this would be called "texture
overuse". To break up the repeated textures I've rotated the stone
wall textures at different angles and used colored lighting.

I hate lava. I replaced lava with smoldering rock. There is a
trigger_damage on the rock but it's set to the lowest damage
value.

I put a shrine where the original map had a wall switch. (The middle
shrine is in the adjoining "red" room.)

The exploding "spore things" were replaced by exploding barrels. Not
particularly useful in a deathmatch map but they don't respawn.
