The Story so far...

Watch Station Echo 6
Korva Desert Region
Sigma Draconis Prime

'Damnit, it's cold... deserts aren't supposed to be this cold!' you
angrily mutter to yourself. You've been out on this rock for three days now
and already you're starting to hate it. Stuck in a tin can of an outpost
guarding some God forsaken barren wilderness. All because some damn colonist
thought he saw a bug. Well, where the hell are they?! Just then, the scream
of the watch sirens jolt you back to your senses... they're here...

===

This map is basically a seige map with the humans in the defensive position.
There's no possible way that the humans can get to the eggs, so don't even
try. After a set time, approximately 25 minutes, the eggs will self destruct.
The Bugs, therefore, have only 25 minutes to penetrate the base and destroy the
teleporters. (trust me, it can be done. I got inside the base in less than a
minute) This is a very interactive map, in that there's a whole lot of stuff
to use (especially for the humans) If this map is well recieved, it will
hopefully be the first in a series of maps, which focus on the defender/attacker
idea for both sides in different environments.

This is my first public release map, so please... be gentle.

The Gadgets:

Laser Perimeter Grid:

This wonderful little peice of modern technology is one of your main base
defences. It is comprised of four posts, which project powerful energy beams,
surrounding the base. Anything attempting to pass through the beams is instant
hamburger. (if you jump just right, you can shower the marines with your gibs)
But be careful, it works both ways. As you can imagine, it takes a great deal
of power to run a grid like this, and any disruption in this power feed would
result in its deactivation.

Damage: you don't want to know

Particle Cannon:

Affectionately nicknamed the "Boom Stick" by the local marines, this impressive
weapon projects a massive burst of energized particles in a projectile arc. One
good hit from this techological terror is enough to reduce a stalker into so much
smoking jello. Unfortunately the motion servos have been broken for quite some
time, so it is permanently trained right ouside the front gate. Since it is
pretty hard to see the area which you are firing at from the gun, it might be a
good idea to have a spotter telling you when to fire. Also remember that if you're
not careful, you might just wipe out a lot of teammates along with the bugs, so
random fire is a bad thing.

	Recharge time: 60 seconds
	Time to impact: 2 seconds
	Damage: 400, direct hit

Doors:

There are two toggleable doors on the base; the main base door, and the laser
perimiter gate. The buttons that control both of these are located just inside
the main door. If you need to go through either of these, it is a good idea to
have someone close them behind you. The red button controls the main base door,
and the green button controls the gate.

Alarm:

There is an alarm button located inside the main building, which sounds throught
the base. You can use this to let your teammates know that the base defences have
been compromised, or other such emergency (such as a bug chewing a hole in the wall)

Advice to the Humans:

I took the time to make you a nice, strong base that can withstand quite a bit of
punnishment. Do yourselves a favor and stay inside it! Once you are beyond the
fence, you are pretty much bug bait. It might be a good idea, however, to have
one or two people partolling the interior of the fence, just in case some bugs try
to get sneaky. With regards to the sniper towers, it's probably a good idea to leave
those to the people with semi-accurate or accurate weapons fire. A shotgun just isn't
going to cut it.

Advice to the Spiders:

This outpost may look imposing, but remember... it's defences were created with
other humans in mind, not aliens. There are many weaknesses in it which can be
exploited. Be creative... you may find some. I wouldn't advise building eggs
outside; stick with the ones you start with. Aside from ruining the point of the
map, they also will ammout to little more than being an easy frag for a Heavy Trooper
in the sniper tower. Oh, and watch out for the Boom Stick.
