A 360degrees covered turret
     For Half-Life
	By Demolisher

--------------------------
First of all we'll start with the idea, the original Idea and prefab was created by Demolisher (demolisher@planetquake.com) who runs FX outpost which I help out with (www.planetquake.com/fx). I saw this and thought it was a brilliant prefab, but the texture work and modelling didn't do it justice, so I asked for permission to update it, so here it is.
After re-building the entire thing (because of the way the original was implemented using floating point co-ordinates) and re-texturing and taking hours to sort out a niggling bug (which is finally fixed!!!) the original idea hasn't changed.
That being that you enter a tunnel down a hatch and once you press a button (which is touch activated) a lift takes you up to the firing postion (and the hatch doors lock you in the tunnel- stops people chasing you into the gun). Which is encased in bullet-proof glass. Once there you can activate a gun which is on the roof (you'll have to look down to activate it, this is so people can't activate it from outside, which we don't want....)
Once this is done, go mad with the gun, and once you get bored or have killed everyone in sight push the button in front of you (once again touch activated) and it'll take the lift down and open the hatch.
The only niggle I had with the original version of this is that it was a very-very-very powerful weapon... and very easy to kill anyone who arrived at it, to help rectify this I put in supporting columns (or whatever they are) around the glass shroud which obscures your view in certain places, which makes the weapon fairer. =)
   Thanx,

      Dave Spurr
