To Install & Run
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Unzip the contents of the DMG.zip file to the drive which contains your installation of
Quake 2. To run it double click the dmg.bat in your Quake 2 root directory and that is it :)
Make sure that if you have a screensaver activated or powersave monitor features that
activate in 30 minutes or less that you have those off or you move your mouse around once
in a while while viewing. Running time is 33 minutes.
If you are interested in reading the kill and chat messages and find they are flashing by adjust
this value in your autoexec for ctf.
// to increase the time that the message stays up
set con_notifytime 6
I have mine at 6 but you can set it higher if you like.

Overman - (in my best academy voice) without whom none of this would have been possible...
but don't hold that against him :) I really would not have attempted something of this
magnitude without being able to refer to Overman's instructional page for keygrip 2
(www.planetquake.com/zs) as well as bothering him with several hundred questions. Thanks
for your patience bro.

Monkeyking - Beta tester extraordinaire and Title maker in the opening sequence. Thanks also
for creating the web page for this project at the last minute :)

Killy - Got me interested in keygrip 2 and also let me bounce ideas off him during all this.

Music - Engines of Aggression, Underworld, X-Dream, Fatboy Slim, Everlast, Nine Inch Nails,
Helmet and House of Pain.

DMG History
^^^^^^^^^^^
March 4, 1998 we got together (just to put you back to that wonderful era the P2-333 was tops
on the market). The planetquake mailing list for quake2 players is how we all met and got
started. Killy had a server he was able to run from work and we joined the Crayola Clan
waxfest and the Online Gaming League open ctf ladder. Thanks to forfeit wins we shot up
to the top 30 pretty quickly and suddenly found ourselves in l33t company. It was tough on
morale but overall we held up pretty well. Heck if you watch this movie you would think we
were gunning for Tull and ES (it's all in the camera angles ;) But just so you don't think
I am trying to give any false impressions here is our OGL history of matches:

October 27, 1998 B 21 20 The Smelter Loss
November 15, 1998 JuDgE 25 24 The Smelter Loss

We went our separate ways Quake 2 wise shortly after the November 15th loss
but we have all kept in contact and are all friends still.
Part of the problem is the top clans in the OGL are *excellent* players with
*excellent* connections whereas DMG (and many others) are good players who
usually have mediocre connections. Not taking anything away from those great
clans but it is impossible to even compete over the net (ya right like we would have
taken them in a lan tourney :P).
Anyhow November 18, 1998 I started working on this demo and it got more and more
ambitious. I wanted to have footage from all 15 of the members who had competed
for DMG and also make it entertaining enough that others may enjoy it too. I
hope that I succeeded at that.
Sorry for the excessively large file size but I really wanted to have good music in it.
The demo is made up of 4 separate .dm2 files that contain footage from 17 demos spanning
15 clan matches and one DMG practice session.
By the way, the practice footage is legit and not setup in any way. The Phase 2 ctf movie
(see planetquake.com/zs in the reviews section for a link) inspired that practice. I was
sitting there LMAO and had to secretly record the practice. It turned out to be some good
stuff.
On a keygrip note, unless you are a masochist do not attempt to work with this many team
demos and join them (unless you are willing to have the loading screen between each).
It is EXTREMELY time consuming to fix all the sound, model, skin and picture errors that
crop up and if you look and listen closely you will see 3 model errors, 3 sound errors and
some other screw ups :) The reason I didn't fix these outstanding ones is because
every time I fixed errors I would notice at least one more. It could have been a never ending
job and I finally was satisfied that the errors still present were minor enough to not
hurt the demo.

This was a labour of love and I wanted all my DMG clan mates to know that I really enjoyed
fraggin with them :)
Thanks for everything.
